Power-seeking individuals, including but not restricted to ruling elites, depended on network of allies to support their political objectives. Ongoing and partially successful competitions waged within networks led to the incorporation of exotic ideas and imported items into the daily practices of all Naco Valley occupants. The result was a fragile hierarchical structure forever vulnerable to the initiatives of agents operating on local and distant stages. -- 330 $aLittle is known about how Late Postclassic populations in southeast Mesoamerica organized their political relations. Networks of Power fills gaps in the knowledge of this little-studied area, reconstructing the course of political history in the Naco Valley from the fourteenth through early sixteenth centuries. -- 410 0$aMesoamerican worlds. 606 $aSocial archaeology$zHonduras$zNaco Valley 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zHonduras$zNaco Valley 606 $aElite (Social sciences)$zHonduras$zNaco Valley 606 $aPower (Social sciences)$zHonduras$zNaco Valley 606 $aMayas$zHonduras$zNaco Valley$xAntiquities 606 $aMayas$zHonduras$zNaco Valley$xPolitics and government 606 $aMayas$zHonduras$zNaco Valley$xKings and rulers 607 $aNaco Valley (Honduras)$xAntiquities 608 $aElectronic books. 610 $aArchaeology 610 $aCeramic 610 $aChert 610 $aMesoamerica 610 $aMesoamerican chronology 610 $aMidden 610 $aObsidian 610 $aPerlite 610 $aPottery 610 $aStone tool 615 0$aSocial archaeology 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 615 0$aElite (Social sciences) 615 0$aPower (Social sciences) 615 0$aMayas$xAntiquities. 615 0$aMayas$xPolitics and government. 615 0$aMayas$xKings and rulers. 676 $a972.83/01 700 $aSchortman$b Edward M$0173854 701 $aUrban$b Patricia A$g(Patricia Ann),$f1950-$0173855 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910166653303321 996 $aNetworks of power$92218423 997 $aUNINA
