Despite being trained professionals in fields including engineering, law, medicine, and education, they experience high levels of unemployment and poverty. Rather than addressing this downward mobility as the result of bureaucratic failures, in practice their unemployment is treated as a problem of culture and racialized bodily difference. In Toronto, a city that prides itself on multicultural inclusion, women are subjected to two distinct cultural contexts revealing that integration in Canada represents not the erasure of all differences, but the celebration of some differences and the eradication of others. 'Downwardly Global' juxtaposes the experiences of these women. 606 $aPakistanis$zCanada 606 $aWomen immigrants$xEmployment$zCanada 606 $aPakistani diaspora 606 $aCultural pluralism$zCanada 615 0$aPakistanis 615 0$aWomen immigrants$xEmployment 615 0$aPakistani diaspora. 615 0$aCultural pluralism 676 $a305.8914122071 700 $aAmeeriar$b Lalaie$0959644 801 0$bNDD 801 1$bNDD 912 $a9910166650103321 996 $aDownwardly global$92174803 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04000nam 22006855 450 001 9910403767103321 005 20251116224335.0 010 $a3-030-46212-9 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-46212-3 035 $a(CKB)4100000011232706 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-46212-3 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6200124 035 $a(PPN)248396021 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011232706 100 $a20200515d2020 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aProceedings of 5th International Conference on the Industry 4.0 Model for Advanced Manufacturing $eAMP 2020 /$fedited by Lihui Wang, Vidosav D. The event marks the latest in a series of high-level conferences that bring together experts from academia and industry to exchange knowledge, ideas, experiences, research findings, and information in the field of manufacturing. The book addresses a wide range of topics, including: design of smart and intelligent products, developments in CAD/CAM technologies, rapid prototyping and reverse engineering, multistage manufacturing processes, manufacturing automation in the Industry 4.0 model, cloud-based products, and cyber-physical and reconfigurable manufacturing systems. By providing updates on key issues and highlighting recent advances in manufacturing engineering and technologies, the book supports the transfer of vital knowledge to the next generation of academics and practitioners. Further, it will appeal to anyone working or conducting research in this rapidly evolving field. . 410 0$aLecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering,$x2195-4356 606 $aMachinery 606 $aManufactures 606 $aComputer engineering 606 $aInternet of things 606 $aEmbedded computer systems 606 $aMachinery and Machine Elements$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T17039 606 $aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T22050 606 $aCyber-physical systems, IoT$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T24080 615 0$aMachinery. 615 0$aManufactures. 615 0$aComputer engineering. 615 0$aInternet of things. 615 0$aEmbedded computer systems. 615 14$aMachinery and Machine Elements. 615 24$aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes. 615 24$aCyber-physical systems, IoT. 676 $a670.42 676 $a670 702 $aWang$b Lihui$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aMajstorovic?$b Vidosav D.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aMourtzis$b Dimitris$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aCarpanzano$b Emanuele$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aMoroni$b Govanni$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aGalantucci$b Luigi Maria$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910403767103321 996 $aProceedings of 5th International Conference on the Industry 4.0 Model for Advanced Manufacturing$92201445 997 $aUNINA
