Who are these underrepresented populations? What creates them? And finally, why should there be concern about URPs in STEM? It will be shown that there is a crisis of a dearth of women, especially minority women, in STEM. This problem is especially acute in Computer Science. It will be shown what has combined to create the perfect storm of impending economic stagnation, impoverished populations, diminished innovation, and lack of interest in choosing these fields. Some solutions to the factors contributing to this problem will be proposed in order to correct this social injustice, and stave off losing America's status as one of the leaders in technological innovation and economic opportunity. 410 0$aGeneral engineering and K-12 engineering education collection. 606 $aScience$xStudy and teaching$zUnited States 606 $aTechnology$xStudy and teaching$zUnited States 606 $aEngineering$xStudy and teaching$zUnited States 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aScience$xStudy and teaching 615 0$aTechnology$xStudy and teaching 615 0$aEngineering$xStudy and teaching 676 $a507.1073 700 $aMacLean$b Lisa M.$0940574 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910162798403321 996 $aCracking the code$92121029 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02491nam 2200649 450 001 9910809390103321 005 20230803194323.0 010 $a1-61376-299-2 035 $a(CKB)2560000000305219 035 $a(EBL)4533191 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001266357 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11725576 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001266357 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11249298 035 $a(PQKB)10376904 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4533191 035 $a(OCoLC)896890185 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse33337 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4533191 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11214659 035 $a(OCoLC)951222933 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000305219 100 $a20160612h20142014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe child cases $ehow America's religious exemption laws harm children /$fAlan Rogers 210 1$aAmherst, [Massachusetts] ;$aBoston, [Massachusetts] :$cUniversity of Massachusetts Press,$d2014. 210 4$dİ2014 215 $a1 online resource (252 p.) 300 $aIncludes index. 311 $a1-62534-071-0 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aCover; Title Page; Copyright; Dedication; Contents; Acknowledgments; Introduction; 1.
