Sie präsentiert die mittelniederländischen Texte in einer kritischen Edition nach der ältesten Handschrift, zusammen mit einem Stellenkommentar sowie einer von dem Musikwissenschaftler Louis Peter Grijp (?) erstellten Rekonstruktionen der Melodien. Eine ausführliche Einleitung erhellt die geistigen und sozialen Kontexte der Lieder. Neu hinzu kommt eine neuhochdeutsche Übersetzung. Dem deutschen Publikum liegt das lyrische Werk von Hadewijch damit erstmals in einer kompletten zweisprachigen Ausgabe vor.
