Triadic structure and the organisation of the text according to established scholarship ; The gods in the Annales ; The organisation of the fragments: evidence and conjecture ; The chronology of the sources ; Fragments organised by source. 330 $aEnnius' Annales, which is preserved only in fragments, was hugely influential on Roman literature and culture. This book explores the genesis, in the ancient sources for Ennius' epic and in modern scholarship, of the accounts of the Annales with which we operate today. A series of appendices detail each source's contribution to our record of the poem, and are used to consider how the interests and working methods of the principal sources shape the modern view of the poem and to re-examine the limits imposed and the possibilities offered by this ancient evidence. Dr Elliott challenges standard views of the poem, such as its use of time and the disposition of the gods within it. She argues that the manifest impact of the Annales on the collective Roman psyche results from its innovative promotion of a vision of Rome as the primary focus of the cosmos in all its aspects. 517 3 $aEnnius & the Architecture of the Annales 606 $aHistorical poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism 607 $aRome$xIn literature 615 0$aHistorical poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a871/.0109 700 $aElliott$b Jackie$f1973-$01843849 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910952298803321 996 $aEnnius and the architecture of the Annales$94425750 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03098oam 2200493I 450 001 9910155038303321 005 20240505155951.0 010 $a1-317-42022-5 010 $a1-315-68813-1 010 $a1-317-42023-3 024 7 $a10.4324/9781315688138 035 $a(CKB)4340000000019281 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4756168 035 $a(OCoLC)967393668 035 $a(EXLCZ)994340000000019281 100 $a20180706d2017 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 10$aBeyond every child matters $eneoliberal education and social policy in the New Era /$fCatherine A. This book will concentrate on changes for children and young people in relation to schools and welfare provision and focuses on the development of Education and welfare policy post 2010, the relationship to previous New Labour agendas and the difficulties in constructing a new policy narrative. It explores the conceptual background of a 'Big Society', used to frame Coalition policy and shows how the underlying spectre of neoliberalism creates both issues for policy attention and undermines ensuing policy solutions. 606 $aEducation and state$zGreat Britain 606 $aNeoliberalism$xSocial aspects$zGreat Britain 615 0$aEducation and state 615 0$aNeoliberalism$xSocial aspects 676 $a379.41 676 $a379.41 700 $aSimon$b Catherine A.$0910239 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910155038303321 996 $aBeyond every child matters$92295931 997 $aUNINA
