Several trends contribute to the ?maturing? of China?s economy: i) structural slowing on the convergence path; ii) on-shoring deepening; and iii) demand rebalancing from investment towards consumption. In the short term, financial stress may lead to a cyclical slowdown. This paper discusses and quantifies spillovers to the global economy from these different developments. The analysis is undertaken using the APDMOD and G20MOD, both modules of the IMF?s Flexible System of Global Models. For plausible values of these developments, the overall impact on the global economy is not large. However, the impact on China?s closest trading partners and commodity exporters can be notable. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2016/212 606 $aBusiness cycles$zChina 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aPublic Finance$2imf 606 $aMoney and Interest Rates: Forecasting and Simulation$2imf 606 $aOpen Economy Macroeconomics$2imf 606 $aInternational Business Cycles$2imf 606 $aGlobalization: Macroeconomic Impacts$2imf 606 $aOne, Two, and Multisector Growth Models$2imf 606 $aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: Infrastructures$2imf 606 $aOther Public Investment and Capital Stock$2imf 606 $aCommodity Markets$2imf 606 $aTrade: General$2imf 606 $aExternalities$2imf 606 $aPublic finance & taxation$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aPublic investment spending$2imf 606 $aCommodity prices$2imf 606 $aPublic investment and public-private partnerships (PPP)$2imf 606 $aExports$2imf 606 $aSpillovers$2imf 606 $aExpenditure$2imf 606 $aPrices$2imf 606 $aInternational trade$2imf 606 $aFinancial sector policy and analysis$2imf 606 $aPublic investments$2imf 606 $aPublic-private sector cooperation$2imf 606 $aInternational finance$2imf 607 $aChina$xEconomic conditions 607 $aChina, People's Republic of$2imf 615 0$aBusiness cycles 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aPublic Finance 615 7$aMoney and Interest Rates: Forecasting and Simulation 615 7$aOpen Economy Macroeconomics 615 7$aInternational Business Cycles 615 7$aGlobalization: Macroeconomic Impacts 615 7$aOne, Two, and Multisector Growth Models 615 7$aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: Infrastructures 615 7$aOther Public Investment and Capital Stock 615 7$aCommodity Markets 615 7$aTrade: General 615 7$aExternalities 615 7$aPublic finance & taxation 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aPublic investment spending 615 7$aCommodity prices 615 7$aPublic investment and public-private partnerships (PPP) 615 7$aExports 615 7$aSpillovers 615 7$aExpenditure 615 7$aPrices 615 7$aInternational trade 615 7$aFinancial sector policy and analysis 615 7$aPublic investments 615 7$aPublic-private sector cooperation 615 7$aInternational finance 676 $a330.951 700 $aDizioli$b Allan$01378957 701 $aHunt$b Benjamin$0895004 701 $aMaliszewski$b Wojciech$01109477 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910155014303321 996 $aSpillovers from the Maturing of China?s Economy$93653007 997 $aUNINA
