Though the T. gondii infection was first discovered in 1908, toxoplasmosis remains a current research topic, and there is a realm of questions and dilemmas that interest both veterinarians and human doctors. The increased prevalence of toxoplasmosis in humans and animals, as well as the difficulty of the coproscopic diagnosis of toxoplasmosis in cats, expensive serological examinations in both animals and humans, a lack of diagnostic methods accessible to veterinarians in slaughterhouses, and cultural and culinary differences in human patients, which can influence the prevalence of the disease, motivate the scientific and practical importance of the proposed book, and reveal the importance of this topic for animal and human health. So, the proposed book will contain information regarding the aetiology and history of Toxoplasma gondii infection and also the parasite's morphology and biology. This work will contain a very detailed epidemiology of toxoplasmosis from all over the world and for all species of animals. This chapter will also include the personal findings of the authors about T. gondii seroprevalence in domestic animals from Romania. In the last part of the book, we will present the main methods for toxoplasma diagnosis. At the end of the book, we will synthesise the main routes for T. gondii infection and the recommendations for reducing toxoplasmosis seroprevalence. *On the 4th of June, 2024, the source of Figure 4 was updated. 517 $aToxoplasmosis 700 $aHotea$b Ionela$01817015 701 $aD?r?bu?$b Gheorghe$01817016 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910764266603321 996 $aToxoplasmosis$94374344 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02748oam 2200637I 450 001 9910155001803321 005 20240505162105.0 010 $a1-351-89377-7 010 $a0-367-88769-X 010 $a1-315-24101-3 024 7 $a10.4324/9781315241012 035 $a(CKB)3710000000965242 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4758488 035 $a(OCoLC)965445114 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000965242 100 $a20180706e20162015 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe books and the life of Judith of Flanders /$fMary Dockray-Miller 205 $a1st ed. 210 1$aLondon ;$aNew York :$cRoutledge,$d2016. 215 $a1 online resource (161 pages, 41 unnumbered pages of plates) $cillustrations (some color), tables 300 $a"First published 2015 by Ashgate Publishing"--t.p. verso. 311 08$a1-4094-6835-6 311 08$a1-351-89378-5 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $a1.
