Introduction -- 2. Animacy and agreement restriction in Persian -- 3. Psychological verbs and multiple subject constructions -- 4. Psychological verbs in Persian and applied arguments -- 5. Concluding remarks. 330 $aAgreement Restrictions in Persian is the first comprehensive attempt to tackle the issue of verbal agreement in Persian from a cross-linguistic point of view. Persian is a field of research within theoretical linguistics that is yet to be sufficiently explored. This book adopts the Minimalist Program of Chomsky (1995-2004) which is at the forefront of recent theories of formal syntax and applies it to the Persian language. Although it is commonly believed that in Persian the verb agrees with the subject, several constructions seem to constrain this obligatory rule. Adopting the framework of Distributed Morphology, the author argues that agreement is in fact obtained with the plural inanimate subjects but a morphological rule may block the result. Unlike the previous analyses which consider the experiencer as the subject of the psychological constructions, the author argues that the psychological state is the subject of the sentence. The findings of this book not only contribute to better understanding of Persian syntax, but also have important implications for grammar theory. 410 0$aIranian studies series (Leiden, Netherlands) 606 $aPersian language$xAgreement 606 $aPersian language$xMorphology 606 $aPersian language$xSyntax 606 $aPersian language$xVerb 610 $aPersian language, syntax, grammar, Chomsky, Distributed Morphology. 615 0$aPersian language$xAgreement. 615 0$aPersian language$xMorphology. 615 0$aPersian language$xSyntax. 615 0$aPersian language$xVerb. 676 $a491.555 700 $aSedighi$b Anousha$f1973-$01635695 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910828316103321 996 $aAgreement restrictions in Persian$93976617 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01995nas 2200601-a 450 001 9910154509803321 005 20240824213016.0 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2095926-6 035 $a(CKB)954921427648 035 $a(CONSER)---97658569- 035 $a(EXLCZ)99954921427648 100 $a19970508a19979999 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aMarketing health services 210 $aChicago, Ill. $cAmerican Marketing Association$d©1997- 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 300 $aTitle from cover. 311 08$aPrint version: Marketing health services. 1094-1304 (DLC) 97658569 (OCoLC)36874577 517 3 $aMHS 531 $aMARK HEALTH SERV 531 0 $aMark. health serv. 606 $aMedical care$xMarketing$vPeriodicals 606 $aHealth services administration$vPeriodicals 606 $aMarketing of Health Services 606 $aHealth services administration$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00953286 606 $aMedical care$xMarketing$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01013822 606 $aGezondheidszorg$2gtt 606 $aMarketing$2gtt 606 $aMedical care$2homoit$3https://homosaurus.org/v3/homoit0001004 606 $aMedical care$xMarketing$vPeriodicals$2nli 608 $aPeriodical. 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 608 $aPeriodicals.$2lcgft 615 0$aMedical care$xMarketing 615 0$aHealth services administration 615 12$aMarketing of Health Services. 615 7$aHealth services administration. 615 7$aMedical care$xMarketing. 615 17$aGezondheidszorg. 615 17$aMarketing. 615 7$aMedical care. 615 7$aMedical care$xMarketing 676 $a362.1/068/8 712 02$aAmerican Marketing Association. 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910154509803321 920 $aexl_impl conversion 996 $aMarketing health services$92209562 997 $aUNINA
