They pertain to female economic contribution in specific geographical areas and countries such as Greece, Italy, a number of regions of France, Greek-speaking regions in the Ottoman-ruled Macedonia, and two countries in the Balkans: Romania and Bulgaria. Additionally, it compares and contrasts female economic agency in the above regions which is a field that hitherto lacks thorough study. Polly Thanailaki explores female contribution to the finances of their family and to the economy of their country and how they interlaced in a transnational historical setting, further exploring social norms and trading practices in these regions. The methodology is based on the study of original printed sources such as archives, newspapers, and journals of the period, along with secondary sources of literature. The book addresses the nexus of gender, economy, and society covering a broad spectrum of gender studies, economic history and social history in time and in geographic space. 606 $aWomen$xHistory 606 $aEconomic history 606 $aSocial history 606 $aEurope$xHistory 606 $aWomen's History / History of Gender 606 $aEconomic History 606 $aSocial History 606 $aEuropean History 615 0$aWomen$xHistory. 615 0$aEconomic history. 615 0$aSocial history. 615 0$aEurope$xHistory. 615 14$aWomen's History / History of Gender. 615 24$aEconomic History. 615 24$aSocial History. 615 24$aEuropean History. 676 $a305.42 676 $a338.04082094 700 $aThanailaki$b Polly$0848107 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910483194303321 996 $aGendered Stereotypes and Female Entrepreneurship in Southern Europe, 1700-1900$91894191 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02238nam 22005533 450 001 9910153260203321 005 20251106181302.0 010 $a1-292-01806-2 010 $a1-292-01345-1 035 $a(CKB)2550000001339296 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5137767 035 $a(BIP)049001666 035 $a(VLeBooks)9781292013459 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5174092 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5174092 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11478748 035 $a(OCoLC)1015873624 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5176115 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5176115 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001339296 100 $a20250709d2014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLaw Express $eEnglish Legal System 205 $a5th ed. 210 1$aHarlow, United Kingdom :$cPearson Education Limited,$d2014. 210 4$dİ2015. 215 $a1 online resource (228 p.)$cill 225 $aLaw Express 311 08$a1-292-01285-4 311 08$a1-322-01209-1 327 $aCover -- Contents -- Acknowledgements -- Introduction -- Guided tour -- Guided tour of the companion website -- Table of cases -- Table of legislation -- 1 Legislation and its interpretation -- 2 European Union law and human rights law -- 3 The institutions -- 4 The doctrine of judicial precedent -- 5 Personnel -- 6 Criminal procedure -- 7 Civil procedure -- 8 Tribunals and alternative dispute resolution -- 9 Access to justice -- And finally, before the exam . . . -- Glossary of terms -- Index -- web pages. 330 8 $aThis volume helps you to get to the heart of the English legal system, ensuring you get the most out of your study time when it really matters.
