330 $aIn West Germany profit-hungry speculators were blamed for rising real estate prices and rental costs. Karl Christian Führer analyzes events in the real estate markets in major cities such as Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, and West Berlin and the heated debate about speculation before 1985. He shatters popular notions while offering salient new data for an informed discussion about freedom and regulation in the housing market. 606 $aReal property$zGermany (West)$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aReal estate investment$zGermany (West)$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aSpeculation$zGermany (West)$xHistory$y20th century 610 $aGuest workers. 610 $areal estate speculation. 610 $arental law. 610 $asocial protest. 610 $asquatters. 615 0$aReal property$xHistory 615 0$aReal estate investment$xHistory 615 0$aSpeculation$xHistory 676 $a346.43043 686 $aQT 360$2rvk 700 $aF©ohrer$b Karl Christian$0962048 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910404126303321 996 $aDie stadt, das geld und der markt$92181243 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04492nam 2200481 450 001 9910153134703321 005 20230808200609.0 010 $a0-309-44772-0 010 $a0-309-44770-4 035 $a(CKB)3710000000960186 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4740884 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000960186 100 $a20161128h20162016 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 00$aEnsuring quality and accessible care for children with disabilities and complex health and educational needs $eproceedings of a workshop /$fSteve Olson, rapporteur 210 1$aWashington, District of Columbia :$cThe National Academies Press,$d2016. 210 4$d©2016 215 $a1 online resource (115 pages) $cillustrations, tables 311 $a0-309-44769-0 327 $aIntroduction and overview of the workshop -- Perspectives from individuals and family members -- Disability names and numbers -- Children with serious medical conditions and the behavioral health implications -- Early identification and interventions for developmental disabilities emerging in childhood -- Early identification and interventions for youth and adolescents with serious behavioral health conditions -- Media and public perceptions and misperceptions of children with disabilities -- Breakout groups and the reflections of moderators. 330 $a"Children with disabilities and complex medical and educational needs present a special challenge for policy makers and practitioners. These children exhibit tremendous heterogeneity in their conditions and needs, requiring a varied array of services to meet those needs. Uneven public and professional awareness of their conditions and a research base marked by significant gaps have led to programs, practices, and policies that are inconsistent in quality and coverage. Parents often have to navigate and coordinate, largely on their own, a variety of social, medical, and educational support services, adding to the already daunting financial, logistical, and emotional challenges of raising children with special needs. The unmet needs of children with disabilities and complex medical and educational needs can cause great suffering for these children and for those who love and care for them. To examine how systems can be configured to meet the needs of children and families as they struggle with disabilities and complex health and educational needs, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine held a workshop in December 2015. The goal of the workshop was to highlight the main barriers and promising solutions for improving care and outcome of children with complex medical and educational needs. Workshop participants examined prevention, care, service coordination, and other topics relevant to children with disabilities and complex health and educational needs, along with their families and caregivers. More broadly, the workshop seeks actionable understanding on key research questions for enhancing the evidence base; promoting and sustaining the quality, accessibility, and use of relevant programs and services; and informing relevant policy development and implementation. By engaging in dialogue to connect the prevention, treatment, and implementation sciences with settings where children are seen and cared for, the forum seeks to improve the lives of children by improving the systems that affect those children and their families.
