The research focuses in particular on the Manuscripts Fund, which was definitely the most relevant and precious part. The final result of the present study has produced both a topographical catalogue, which reconstructs the physical layout that these manuscripts had in their original location, and an alphabetical catalogue, according to the 18th Century original. Finally, the historical essay highlights the events that led this famous library, now unified by Gabriello's will, to save itself from dispersion and remain intact as we know it today. The publication is enriched by a Repertorial Section, available with open access in the digital version of the volume (eBook), which presents a series of documents, catalogues and indexes obtained from the study on the Library of Gabriello Riccardi. 517 $aLibreria privata del Marchese Suddecano Gabriello Riccardi 606 $aPrivate libraries 615 0$aPrivate libraries. 676 $a002.075 700 $aBartoletti$b Guglielmo$0169688 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910571759303321 996 $aLibreria privata del Marchese Suddecano Gabriello Riccardi$93012947 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01932ojm 2200265z- 450 001 9910149008003321 005 20251113110205.0 010 $a1-5159-9317-5 035 $a(CKB)3710000000924477 035 $a(BIP)060403459 035 $a(ODN)ODN0003021387 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000924477 100 $a20231107c2016uuuu -u- - 101 0 $aeng 200 10$aAnd a Bottle of Rum : A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails 210 $cTantor Audio 330 8 $aAnd a Bottle of Rum tells the raucously entertaining story of America as seen through the bottom of a drinking glass. With a chapter for each of ten cocktails, Wayne Curtis reveals that the homely spirit once distilled from the industrial waste of the exploding sugar trade has managed to infiltrate every stratum of New World society.Curtis takes us from the taverns of the American colonies, where rum delivered both a cheap wallop and cash for the Revolution, to the plundering pirate ships off the coast of Central America, to the watering holes of pre-Castro Cuba, and to the kitsch-laden tiki bars of 1950s America. Here are sugar barons and their armies conquering the Caribbean, Paul Revere stopping for a nip during his famous ride, Prohibitionists marching against "demon rum," Hemingway fattening his liver with Havana daiquiris, and today's bartenders reviving old favorites like Planter's Punch.Awash with local color and wry humor, And a Bottle of Rum is an affectionate toast to this most American of liquors, a chameleon spirit that has been constantly reinvented over the centuries by tavern keepers, bootleggers, lounge lizards, and marketing gurus. 517 $aAnd a Bottle of Rum 676 $a394.1/3 700 $aCurtis$b Wayne$01436371 702 $aChamberlain$b Mike$4nrt 906 $aAUDIO 912 $a9910149008003321 996 $aAnd a Bottle of Rum : A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails$93594999 997 $aUNINA
