The p- posaltohostMICCAI2004wasstronglyencouragedandsupportedbyIRISA, Rennes. IRISA is a publicly funded national research laboratory with a sta? of 370,including150full-timeresearchscientistsorteachingresearchscientistsand 115 postgraduate students. INRIA, the CNRS, and the University of Rennes 1 are all partners in this mixed research unit, and all three organizations were helpful in supporting MICCAI. MICCAI has become a premier international conference with in-depth - pers on the multidisciplinary ?elds of medical image computing, comput- assisted intervention and medical robotics. The conference brings together cl- icians, biological scientists, computer scientists, engineers, physicists and other researchers and o?ers them a forum to exchange ideas in these exciting and rapidly growing ?elds. The impact of MICCAI increases each year and the quality and quantity of submitted papers this year was very impressive. We received a record 516 full submissions (8 pages in length) and 101 short communications (2 pages) from 36 di?erent countries and 5 continents (see ?gures below). All submissions were reviewed by up to 4 external reviewers from the Scienti?c Review C- mittee and a primary reviewer from the Program Committee. All reviews were then considered by the MICCAI 2004 Program Committee, resulting in the acceptance of 235 full papers and 33 short communications. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x0302-9743 ;$v3217 606 $aInternal medicine 606 $aOptical data processing 606 $aPattern recognition 606 $aComputer graphics 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aRadiology 606 $aInternal Medicine$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H33002 606 $aImage Processing and Computer Vision$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22021 606 $aPattern Recognition$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I2203X 606 $aComputer Graphics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22013 606 $aArtificial Intelligence$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000 606 $aImaging / Radiology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H29005 615 0$aInternal medicine. 615 0$aOptical data processing. 615 0$aPattern recognition. 615 0$aComputer graphics. 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aRadiology. 615 14$aInternal Medicine. 615 24$aImage Processing and Computer Vision. 615 24$aPattern Recognition. 615 24$aComputer Graphics. 615 24$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aImaging / Radiology. 676 $a610/.28 702 $aBarillot$b Christian$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aHaynor$b David R$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aHellier$b Pierre$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910144151803321 996 $aMedical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention -- MICCAI 2004$92257126 997 $aUNINA
