The main goals of theses conferences have been: (i) to bring together the NLP community in Europe; (ii) to strengthen the po- tion of local NLP research in the international NLP community; (iii) to provide a friendly forumfor discussion of new research and applications. PorTAL has recon'rmed this year the goals and the high international sta- ing of those conferences, largely due to its Program Committee, composed of renowned researchers in the ?eld of Natural Language Processing, a third of themfromPortuguese universities. This clearly contributed to the signi'cant number of papers submitted (48) by researchers from 12 di'erent countries. Each paper submitted was reviewed by three reviewers, either from the P- gram Committee or by their commitment. All those who contributed are m- tioned on the following pages. The review process led to the selection of 35 papers for oral presentation: 23 regular papers and 11 short papers. They have been published in this volume. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence ;$v2389 606 $aNatural language processing (Computer science) 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aLogic, Symbolic and mathematical 606 $aInformation storage and retrieval 606 $aNatural Language Processing (NLP)$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21040 606 $aArtificial Intelligence$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000 606 $aMathematical Logic and Formal Languages$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16048 606 $aInformation Storage and Retrieval$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18032 606 $aNatural Language Processing (NLP)$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21040 615 0$aNatural language processing (Computer science) 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aLogic, Symbolic and mathematical. 615 0$aInformation storage and retrieval. 615 14$aNatural Language Processing (NLP). 615 24$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aMathematical Logic and Formal Languages. 615 24$aInformation Storage and Retrieval. 615 24$aNatural Language Processing (NLP). 676 $a006.3/5 702 $aRanchod$b Elisabete$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aMamede$b Nuno J$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 12$aPorTAL 2002 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910143899003321 996 $aAdvances in Natural Language Processing$9771954 997 $aUNINA
