Indeed, although it was published in 1978 in Belgium by Vie Ouvrière, this book has not circulated much in France. It is therefore practically a question of giving access to it for the first time. The book is the result of a sociology thesis carried out by two researchers, and it reports on one of the first surveys on the socialization of children conducted in the homes of families from different social classes. The new preface by Stéphane Bonnéry, after the original one by Jean Remy and Jean-Claude Chamboredon, as well as the afterword by Georges Liénard, Éric Mangez and Hugues Draelants, underline its precursory character for the sociology of education and children. A study of the variation in forms of socialization according to social position, the book is an attempt to link an ethnography of educational practices in different classes and a sociology of class morals. From the description of socialization, the temporal perspective in which it takes place, the representations of the objective future that it implies, the view of work and the social position of the family that accompanies it, the sociological analysis tends to show how social learning is also an apprenticeship of social position, and how socialization is an internalization of social status. 606 $aGeneral studies$2bicssc 606 $aHigher & further education, tertiary education$2bicssc 610 $asociology of children 610 $asocial classes 610 $aindirect socialization 610 $acultural transmission 615 7$aGeneral studies 615 7$aHigher & further education, tertiary education 700 $aLiénard$b Georges$01294297 701 $aServais$b Émile$01364476 701 $aBonnéry$b Stéphane$01309727 701 $aChamboredon$b Jean-Claude$0125244 701 $aDraelants$b Hugues$01324536 701 $aLiénard$b Georges$01294297 701 $aMangez$b Éric$01364477 701 $aRemy$b Jean$0342946 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910597162803321 996 $aCapital culturel et inégalités sociales$93385672 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02774 am 22005653u 450 001 9910141821003321 005 20231013073431.0 010 $a9780980723076 (ebook) 035 $a(CKB)2670000000409827 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000985988 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11633063 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000985988 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10932827 035 $a(PQKB)10217957 035 $a(EXLCZ)9780980723076 035 $a(WaSeSS)Ind00074554 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/32958 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000409827 100 $a20160829d2011 uy | 101 0 $afre 135 $aurmz#---aaaua 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aMallarmé devant ses contemporains, 1875-1899 /$fPeter Hambly (editor) 210 $cUniversity of Adelaide Press$d2011 210 1$aAdelaide :$cUniversity of Adelaide Press,$d2011. 215 $a1 online resource (153 pages) $cdigital, PDF file(s) 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 330 1 $aThe enigmatic nature of Mallarme?'s works disconcerted his first readers and they were published at a period when the number of newspaper and periodicals was rapidly increasing. In the last quarter of the 19th century many comments on his writings appeared in print, some were laudatory, others claimed that he wished to found a poetic School of the Unintelligible. Today's reader will find gathered here reviews published when individual works first appeared and critical texts on his work in general. Among the aspects of his influence on his contemporaries which have been little known hitherto are the reactions of those who heard the first performances of Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun in 1894 and 1895, and the use that was made of Mallarme?'s name in aesthetic and political polemics at the time, associating him with Odilon Redon or E?mile Zola. Some of his utterances made at the celebrated Mardis are also recorded here. 606 $aRomance Literatures$2HILCC 606 $aLanguages & Literatures$2HILCC 606 $aFrench Literature$2HILCC 610 $a1842-1898 610 $ahistory and criticism 610 $afrench poetry 610 $ainfluence 610 $a19th century 615 7$aRomance Literatures 615 7$aLanguages & Literatures 615 7$aFrench Literature 676 $a843/.809 700 $aS.
