Klein studied infinitely repeated reflections and was led to forms with multiple coexisting symmetries. For a century, these images barely existed outside the imagination of mathematicians. However, in the 1980s, the authors embarked on the first computer exploration of Klein's vision, and in doing so found many further extraordinary images. Join the authors on the path from basic mathematical ideas to the simple algorithms that create the delicate fractal filigrees, most of which have never appeared in print before. Beginners can follow the step-by-step instructions for writing programs that generate the images. Others can see how the images relate to ideas at the forefront of research. 606 $aFractals 615 0$aFractals. 676 $a514/.742 700 $aMumford$b David$f1937-$042095 702 $aSeries$b Caroline 702 $aWright$b David James 702 $aGonick$b Larry 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910783070103321 996 $aIndra's pearls$93682519 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02514oas 2200901 a 450 001 9910141760803321 005 20260127110053.0 011 $a2657-4276 035 $a(CONSER) 2012234699 035 $a(CKB)960238970629 035 $a(MiAaPQ)1116335 035 $a(OCoLC)607447092 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2207514-8 035 $a(DE-599)2207514-8 035 $a(EXLCZ)99960238970629 100 $a20100414a19939999 oy 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||||abp 135 $aurbn||||||ada 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aPolish sociological review $equarterly of the Polish Sociological Association 210 $aWarszawa, Poland $cPolish Sociological Association$d1993- 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 311 08$a1231-1413 606 $aSociology$vPeriodicals 606 $aSociologie$vPe?riodiques 606 $aPublications pe?riodiques$2eclas 606 $aSociologie$2eclas 606 $aThe?orie sociale$2eclas 606 $aStructure sociale$2eclas 606 $aChangement social$2eclas 606 $aCulture$2eclas 606 $aAspects politiques$2eclas 606 $aSocial conditions$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01919811 606 $aSociology$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01123875 606 $aSociologie$2gtt 607 $aPoland$xSocial conditions$vPeriodicals 607 $aPologne$xConditions sociales$vPe?riodiques 607 $aPoland$2fast$1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39QbtfRgyP3qcDKmj68x7FVbM 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 615 0$aSociology 615 6$aSociologie 615 7$aPublications pe?riodiques. 615 7$aSociologie. 615 7$aThe?orie sociale. 615 7$aStructure sociale. 615 7$aChangement social. 615 7$aCulture. 615 7$aAspects politiques. 615 7$aSocial conditions 615 7$aSociology. 615 17$aSociologie. 712 02$aPolskie Towarzystwo Socjologiczne 801 0$bOCLCE 801 1$bOCLCE 801 2$bEYM 801 2$bHUL 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bOCLCF 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCL 801 2$bOCLCS 801 2$bBEDGE 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bVT2 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bUAB 801 2$bTXA 801 2$bOCLCL 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910141760803321 996 $aPolish sociological review$92222815 997 $aUNINA
