Her case studies of public architecture provide an understanding of how urbanism, the emperor and religion were part of the daily encounters of these communities. Revell applies the ideas of agency and practice in her examination of the structures that held the empire together and how they were implicated within repeated daily activities. Rather than offering a homogenised 'ideal type' description of Roman cultural identity, she uses these structures as a way to understand how encounters differed between communities, thus producing a more nuanced interpretation of what it was to be Roman. Bringing an innovative approach to the problem of Romanisation, Revell breaks from traditional models, cutting across a number of entrenched debates such as arguments about the imposition of Roman culture or resistance to Roman rule. 517 3 $aRoman Imperialism & Local Identities 606 $aImperialism 606 $aRomans$xEthnic identity 607 $aRome$xHistory$yEmpire, 30 B.C.-476 A.D 607 $aRome$xForeign relations$y30 B.C.-476 A.D 607 $aRome$xEthnic relations 615 0$aImperialism. 615 0$aRomans$xEthnic identity. 676 $a937/.06 700 $aRevell$b Louise$0607766 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910453672003321 996 $aRoman imperialism and local identities$91125876 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01435oam 2200481zu 450 001 9910140134403321 005 20210807001156.0 010 $a2-8218-3689-9 024 7 $a10.4000/books.pup.4439 035 $a(CKB)2560000000351931 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001387298 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12565438 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001387298 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11378238 035 $a(PQKB)10264994 035 $a(FrMaCLE)OB-pup-4439 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/58786 035 $a(PPN)182828727 035 $a(oapen)doab58786 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000351931 100 $a20160829d1991 uy 101 0 $afre 135 $auu||||||m|||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aSaint Thomas et L'histoire 210 $cPresses universitaires de Provence$d1991 210 31$a[Place of publication not identified]$cPublications de l'Universite de Provence$d1991 215 $a1 online resource (692 p.) 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 08$a2-901104-29-0 610 $ascolastique 610 $athéologie 610 $athomisme 676 $a901 700 $aDufeil$b Michel-Marie$f1922-$0483880 702 $aDufeil$b Michel-Marie 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910140134403321 996 $aSaint Thomas et L'histoire$92867732 997 $aUNINA
