Aujourd?hui, les lexicographes décrivent-ils le bon usage ou tout simplement l?usage ? Leur revient-il de définir la norme d?une langue ? Comment établissent-ils cette représentation de la langue qu?est le dictionnaire ? Ce texte qui décortique la pratique lexicographique et les défis des lexicographes montre comment le dictionnaire reste le radar de la langue puisque les lexicographes doivent observer les usages lexicaux et tenir compte à la fois du travail de leurs prédécesseurs, des auteurs, des journalistes et de l?émergence de nouveaux mots et de sens nouveaux. 410 0$aProfession (Montre?al, Que?bec) 606 $aLexicography$xSocial aspects 606 $aLexicographers 610 $aprofession 610 $amots 610 $alexicographe 610 $alangue 610 $ascience du langage 610 $adictionnaire 615 0$aLexicography$xSocial aspects. 615 0$aLexicographers. 676 $a413.028 700 $aVillers$b Marie-E?va de$0924527 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910138885403321 996 $aProfession, lexicographe$92075153 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03657oam 2200721Ia 450 001 9910790390103321 005 20231130233507.0 010 $a1-280-49592-8 010 $a9786613591159 010 $a90-04-22432-7 024 7 $a10.1163/9789004224322 035 $a(CKB)2670000000193844 035 $a(EBL)919586 035 $a(OCoLC)794328553 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000664019 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11371036 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000664019 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10613814 035 $a(PQKB)11351934 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC919586 035 $a(nllekb)BRILL9789004224322 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL919586 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10562463 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL359115 035 $a(PPN)174394969 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000193844 100 $a20111219d2012 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe politics of identity in Visigoth Spain $ereligion and power in the histories of Isidor of Seville /$fJamie Wood 210 1$aLeiden ;$aBoston :$cBrill,$d2012. 215 $a1 online resource (287 pages) 225 1 $aBrill's series on the early Middle Ages,$x1878-4879 ;$vv. 21 311 0 $a90-04-20990-5 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aPreliminary Material -- Introduction -- Iberian Identities: Isidore in Context -- Reception and Reuse: History, Historians and Historiography in the Writings of Isidore of Seville -- A Spanish Homeland: History, Kingship and Conquest in the Histories of Isidore of Seville -- The Hispano-Visigothic Church Triumphant: Religion and Conversion in Isidore?s Histories -- Conclusions -- Bibliography -- Index. 330 $aPrevious scholarship has interpreted Bishop Isidore of Seville (d. 636) retrospectively as the architect of the medieval Spanish church, as the father of Spanish identity, and as a key figure in the transmission of Classical and Patristic learning to the Middle Ages. Drawing on recent studies on identity formation in the early medieval period and an upsurge in interest in late antique Spain, this book examines the historical Isidore as a social actor managing a complex web of responsibilities and relationships. A comparative analysis of Isidore's historical works demonstrates that writing about the past was a method for reconciling Visigothic kings, nobles and Spanish bishops in a period of transformation. This results in a fresh portrait of Isidore as motivated, both politically and pastorally, to balance competing interests and ensure the spiritual and material security of the people of Spain. 410 0$aBrill's series on the early Middle Ages ;$vv. 21. 606 $aVisigoths$zSpain$xHistory 606 $aChurch and state$zSpain$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aNation-building$zSpain$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aNational characteristics, Spanish 606 $aGroup identity$zSpain 607 $aSpain$xHistory$yGothic period, 414-711 607 $aSpain$xEthnic relations$xHistory$yTo 1500 607 $aSpain$xCivilization$yTo 711 615 0$aVisigoths$xHistory. 615 0$aChurch and state$xHistory 615 0$aNation-building$xHistory 615 0$aNational characteristics, Spanish. 615 0$aGroup identity 676 $a946/.01 700 $aWood$b Jamie P.$f1978-$01572992 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910790390103321 996 $aThe politics of identity in Visigoth Spain$93848492 997 $aUNINA
