While scholars have long examined the texts and images on rolls, they have rarely taken the manuscripts themselves into account. This volume readdresses this imbalance by focusing on the materiality and various usages of rolls in late medieval England and France. Researchers from England, France, Germany and Singapore demonstrate in 11 contributions how this approach can increase our understanding of the rolls and their contents, as well as the contexts in which they were produced and used. 410 0$aMateriale Textkulturen 606 $aClassical texts$2bicssc 606 $aClassical history / classical civilisation$2bicssc 607 $aEngland$2fast 607 $aFrance$2fast 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2lcgft 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2fast 610 $aEngland. 610 $aFrance. 610 $aRolls. 610 $alate Middle Ages. 615 7$aClassical texts 615 7$aClassical history / classical civilisation 676 $a002.09 700 $aHoltz$b Stefan G$4edt$01371824 702 $aHolz$b Stefan G.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aPeltzer$b Jörg$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aShirota$b Maree$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 02$aDeutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910372746003321 996 $aThe Roll in England and France in the Late Middle Ages$93401473 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01394nas 2200445-a 450 001 9910132564003321 005 20260218110824.0 035 $a(CKB)110978978744311 035 $a(CONSER)---87647247- 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2061173-0 035 $a(DE-599)2061173-0 035 $a(EXLCZ)99110978978744311 100 $a19850108b19852012 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aAlki $ethe Washington Library Association journal 210 $a[Bellevue, Wash.] $cWashington Library Association$d[1985-] 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aTitle from cover. 311 08$aPrint version: Alki : 8756-4173 (DLC) 87647247 (OCoLC)11558092 531 0 $aAlki 606 $aLibrary science$zWashington (State)$vPeriodicals 606 $aLibraries$zWashington (State)$vPeriodicals 606 $aLibraries$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00997341 606 $aLibrary science$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00997916 607 $aWashington (State)$2fast 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 615 0$aLibrary science 615 0$aLibraries 615 7$aLibraries. 615 7$aLibrary science. 676 $a020/.6232/797 712 02$aWashington Library Association. 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910132564003321 920 $aexl_impl conversion 996 $aAlki$92265024 997 $aUNINA
