The way these genres relate to that which exists beyond the frame, by means of plastic, chemically transposed, pencil-sketched or moving images allows us to decipher the particular language of the visual and at the same time circumscribe the dialectic between presence and absence that is proper to all visual media. Yet, these kinds of re-framing owe their existence to the ruptures and upheavals that marked the demise of certain discursive systems in the past, announcing the emergence of others that were in turn overturned. 606 $aFrench literature$xHistory and criticism 606 $aMotion pictures$zFrance 607 $aFrance$xIn literature 607 $aFrance$xIn art 607 $aFrance$xIn motion pictures 610 $ajean fornasiero 610 $asonya stephens 610 $athe artwork of the baudin expedition to australia (1800-1804): nicolas-martin petit's 1802 portrait of an aboriginal woman and child from van diemen's land 610 $afrench culture 610 $anicole starbuck 610 $ajane southwood 610 $aben mccann 610 $aannie ernaux's phototextual archives: ecrire la vie 610 $afrench literature 610 $athe return of trauner: late style in 1970s and 1980s french film design 610 $afrench photography 610 $ajohn west-sooby 610 $aframing the eiffel tower: from postcards to postmodernism 610 $acolonial vision 610 $afrench voyager-artists 610 $aaboriginal subjects and the british colony at port jackson 610 $aan artist in the making: the early drawings of charles-alexandre lesueur during the baudin expedition to australia 610 $aframing new holland or framing a narrative? a representation of sydney according to charles-alexandre lesueur 610 $aÉdouard Manet 610 $aParis 615 0$aFrench literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aMotion pictures 676 $a840.93244 700 $aEdwards$b Natalie$4auth$01093091 702 $aEdwards$b Natalie 702 $aMcCann$b Ben 702 $aPoiana$b Peter 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 912 $a9910131603903321 996 $aFraming French culture$93398318 997 $aUNINA
