The essays offer bold and insightful engagement with animé's concerns with gender identity, anxieties about body mutation and technological monstrosity, and apocalyptic fantasies of the end of history. The contributors dismantle the distinction between 'high' and 'low' culture and offer compelling arguments for the value and importance of the study of animé and popular culture as a key link in the translation from the local to the global. 606 $aAnimated films$zJapan 606 $aAnimation (Cinematography)$zJapan 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aAnimated films 615 0$aAnimation (Cinematography) 676 $a791.43/340952 701 $aBrown$b Steven T$0103423 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910450867503321 996 $aCinema anime$92291356 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04844oam 22007094a 450 001 9910453294803321 005 20211004152556.0 010 $a1-57506-868-0 024 7 $a10.1515/9781575068688 035 $a(CKB)2550000001151062 035 $a(EBL)3155685 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001036756 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11593060 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001036756 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11042496 035 $a(PQKB)10114304 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3155685 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3155685 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10784045 035 $a(OCoLC)922991800 035 $a(DE-B1597)583715 035 $a(DE-B1597)9781575068688 035 $a(OCoLC)861200307 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)musev2_78795 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001151062 100 $a20131021d2013 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aAll the Boundaries of the Land$eThe Promised Land in Biblical Thought in Light of the Ancient Near East /$fNili Wazana 210 1$aWinona Lake, Indiana :$cEisenbrauns,$d2013 210 4$d©2013 215 $a1 online resource (368 p.) 300 $aOriginaltitel: Kol gevulot arets 311 $a1-57506-283-6 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and indexes. 327 $a""Preface""; ""Abbreviations""; ""Introduction""; ""Part 1""; ""Borders and the Concept of the Border in the Bible and Ancient Near East""; ""a???Bordera??? versus a???Frontiera???""; ""Spatial Merisms""; ""Part 2""; ""The Promised Land""; ""The Land Promised to the Patriarchs""; ""The Promise of World Dominion""; ""a???The Land of Canaan with Its Various Boundariesa??? What drives and characterizes the descriptions given of them? The starting point for this research lies in the premise that, despite their detailed geographical nature, the biblical texts are not genuinely geographical documents. They are more appropriately to be understood and examined as literary texts composed in the service of an ideological agenda. In order to comprehend properly the idea of the Promised Land presented in the Hebrew Bible?its definitions, dimensions, and significance?we must understand that the descriptions belong to diverse literary genres, were composed according to various literary devices that require decoding, and that reflect a range of perspectives, outlooks, and notions. All the Boundaries of the Land provides engaging fresh perspectives on the variant views of the Promised Land in the interface between literature, history, geography, and ideology. It does not intend to answer the question of how the borders of the land altered throughout the course of history. The reader will find no maps or outlines in this book. The emphasis is on the literary tools that were employed by the biblical authors who described the borders, and the ideological motives that guided them.Erratum: All the Boundaries of the Land: The Promised Land in Biblical Thought in Light of the Ancient Near East was published with the support of the Israel Science Foundation (ISF). They funded the translation of the book into English and enabled Nili Wazana to make her research accessible to the wider scientific community. The preface to the book mistakenly fails to mention their contribution, thanking instead the Israel Academy of Science. Future editions will acknowledge the author?s gratitude to the Israel Science Foundation. 606 $aPalestine in the Bible$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01051585 606 $aJews$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00983135 606 $aBoundaries$xBiblical teaching$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01352126 606 $aJews$xHistory$yTo 70 A.D 607 $aMiddle East$zPalestine$2fast 607 $aPalestine$xBoundaries$xBiblical teaching 607 $aPalestine$xIn the Bible 608 $aHistory 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPalestine in the Bible 615 0$aJews 615 0$aBoundaries$xBiblical teaching 615 0$aJews$xHistory 676 $a221.9/1 701 $aWazana$b Nili$01048219 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910453294803321 996 $aAll the boundaries of the land$92476359 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01025nam 2200349 450 001 9910131415403321 005 20160614092728.0 035 $a(CKB)3710000000492928 035 $a(WaSeSS)IndRDA00057628 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000492928 100 $a20160614d2014 || | 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aEnvironmental tracers /$fTrevor Elliot (editor) 210 1$aBasel, Switzerland :$cMDPI,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (xii, 226 pages) 311 $a3-906980-91-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 606 $aGroundwater tracers 606 $aRadioactive tracers in hydrogeology 615 0$aGroundwater tracers. 615 0$aRadioactive tracers in hydrogeology. 702 $aElliot$b Trevor 801 0$bWaSeSS 801 1$bWaSeSS 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910131415403321 996 $aEnvironmental tracers$92115021 997 $aUNINA
