The inventory of the papers of Pietro Betti, Carlo Burci and Vincenzio Chiarugi has made available an important archive heritage, which goes to supplement the partial knowledge deriving from the biographies and works of these figures who represented the bridge between the enlightened and revolutionary eighteenth century and the following century, taut between the claims of science and political and social influences. A great season for Medicine and Surgery is revisited through the voices of three important exponents of this period of knowledge and action, of a commitment ? that is also contemporary ? to care, to teaching and to research. 517 $aMedicina, chirurgia e sanità in Toscana tra '700 e '800 606 $aMedicine$zItaly$zTuscany$xHistory$vSources 606 $aWriting 606 $aHistory, Modern 1601- 606 $aHistory 606 $aHumanities 606 $aLanguage Arts 606 $aLanguage 606 $aCommunication 606 $aInformation Science 606 $aCorrespondence as Topic 606 $aHistory, 19th Century 606 $aHistory of Medicine 606 $aHistory, 18th Century 606 $aGeneral$2HILCC 606 $aBibliography - General$2HILCC 610 $aToscana 610 $aCarlo Burci 610 $aSettecento 610 $aChirurgia 610 $aottocento 610 $aStoria 610 $aPietro Betti 610 $aServizi sanitari 610 $aMedicina 610 $aArchivo 610 $aVincenzio Chiarugi 615 0$aMedicine$xHistory 615 2$aWriting 615 2$aHistory, Modern 1601- 615 2$aHistory 615 2$aHumanities 615 2$aLanguage Arts 615 2$aLanguage 615 2$aCommunication 615 2$aInformation Science 615 2$aCorrespondence as Topic 615 2$aHistory, 19th Century 615 2$aHistory of Medicine 615 2$aHistory, 18th Century 615 7$aGeneral 615 7$aBibliography - General 676 $a016 700 $aDonatella Lippi$4auth$01362156 701 $aLippi$b Donatella$0627994 701 $aBiagioli$b Beatrice$0990207 801 0$bItFiC 801 1$bItFiC 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910130583903321 996 $aMedicina, chirurgia e sanità in Toscana tra '700 e '800$93426917 997 $aUNINA 999 $aThis Record contains information from the Harvard Library Bibliographic Dataset, which is provided by the Harvard Library under its Bibliographic Dataset Use Terms and includes data made available by, among others the Library of Congress LEADER 04095nam 22006375 450 001 9910337826803321 005 20251010082613.0 010 $a9783030045463$b(electronic book) 010 $a3030045463$b(electronic book) 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-04546-3 035 $a(CKB)4100000007656807 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-04546-3 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5709701 035 $a(PPN)235005576 035 $a(Perlego)3494287 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000007656807 100 $a20190214d2019 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#---mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aVictim Participation Rights $eVariation Across Criminal Justice Systems /$fby Kerstin Braun 205 $a1st ed. 2019. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2019. 215 $a1 online resource (xvi, 296 pages) $cillustrations 225 1 $aPalgrave Studies in Victims and Victimology,$x2947-9363 311 0 $a9783030045456 311 0 $a3030045455 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $a1. Braun analyses countries with different legal traditions, including: the United States, England, Wales and Australia (as examples of mostly adversarial countries); Germany and France (as examples of inquisitorial systems); as well as Denmark and Sweden with their mixed inquisitorial-adversarial background. Victim Participation Rights is distinctive in that it assesses the implementation of formal processes and procedures concerning victim participation at three different procedural stages: first, investigation and pre-trial; second, trial and sentencing; and third, post-trial with a focus on appeal and parole. In addition, Braun provides an in-depth case study on the general position of victims in criminal trials, especially in light of national criminal justice policy, in Germany, a mostly inquisitorial system and Australia, a largely adversarial system. In light of its findings, the book ponders whether, at this stage in time, a greater focus on victim protection rather than on active procedural rights could be more beneficial to enhancing the overall experience of victims. In this context, it takes a close look at the merits of introducing or expanding legal representation schemes for victims. 410 0$aPalgrave Studies in Victims and Victimology,$x2947-9363 606 $aVictims of crimes 606 $aHuman rights 606 $aLaw and the social sciences 606 $aCriminal law 606 $aVictimology 606 $aHuman Rights 606 $aSocio-Legal Studies 606 $aCriminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law 615 0$aVictims of crimes. 615 0$aHuman rights. 615 0$aLaw and the social sciences. 615 0$aCriminal law. 615 14$aVictimology. 615 24$aHuman Rights. 615 24$aSocio-Legal Studies. 615 24$aCriminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law. 676 $a362.88 676 $a345.05046 700 $aBraun$b Kerstin$0784320 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910337826803321 996 $aVictim participation rights$91743518 997 $aUNINA
