Often available in periodicals, lynching plays were read aloud or acted out by black church members, schoolchildren, and families. Koritha Mitchell shows that African Americans performed and read the scripts in community settings to certify to each other that lynching victims were not the isolated brutes that dominant discourses made them out to be. Instead, the play scripts often described victims as honourable heads of households being torn from model domestic units by white violence. 410 0$aNew Black studies. 606 $aAmerican drama$xAfrican American authors$xHistory and criticism 606 $aAmerican drama$y20th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aAmerican drama$y19th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aOne-act plays, American$xHistory and criticism 606 $aLynching in literature 606 $aAfrican Americans in literature 606 $aViolence in literature 606 $aCitizenship in literature 615 0$aAmerican drama$xAfrican American authors$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aAmerican drama$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aAmerican drama$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aOne-act plays, American$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aLynching in literature. 615 0$aAfrican Americans in literature. 615 0$aViolence in literature. 615 0$aCitizenship in literature. 676 $a812/.509896073 700 $aMitchell$b Koritha$01813257 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910960385503321 996 $aLiving with lynching$94366182 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01586nam2-2200373---450 001 990008461450403321 005 20251216100057.0 010 $a88-86854-63-3 035 $a000846145 035 $aFED01000846145 035 $a(Aleph)000846145FED01 035 $a000846145 100 $a20070131d2004----km-y0itay50------ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay---c---001yy 200 1 $aPiero Nasi (10 aprile 1491-22 novembre 1491), Antonio Della Valle (23 novembre 1491-25 gennaio 1492) e Niccolò Michelozzi (26 gennaio 1492-giugno 1492)$fa cura di Bruno Figliuolo e Sabrina Marcotti 210 $aSalerno$cCarlone$d©2004 215 $aLIX,475 p.$d25 cm 225 1 $aFonti per la storia di Napoli aragonese$iSeconda serie$v6 300 $aIn testa al front.: Istituto italiano per gli studi filosofici 304 $aTit. della cop.: Corrispondenza di Piero Nasi Antonio Della Valle e Niccolò Michelozzi : (10 aprile 1491-2 giugno 1492) 461 0$1001000846142$12001$aCorrispondenza degli ambasciatori fiorentini a Napoli$v6 610 0 $aNapoli $aRelazioni diplomatiche$aSec. 15. 676 $a945.707$v21$zita 700 1$aFigliuolo,$bBruno$0157468 701 1$aMarcotti,$bSabrina$0298949 801 0$aIT$bUNINA$gRICA$2UNIMARC 901 $aBK 912 $a990008461450403321 952 $a945.706 FSNA 02 (6)$bBibl. 53454$fFLFBC 959 $aFLFBC 996 $aPiero Nasi (10 aprile 1491-22 novembre 1491), Antonio Della Valle (23 novembre 1491-25 gennaio 1492) e Niccolò Michelozzi (26 gennaio 1492-giugno 1492$9729448 997 $aUNINA
