Until now, however, they have not been carefully documented. René Kolkman, a professional architect in Amsterdam, studied the homes of 37 different ethnic groups in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. His detailed drawings, photographs and personal stories show us the diversity of living spaces in this fascinating cultural area. Longhouses and square houses, built on platforms, built on plinths and housing as many as eighty-six people, these traditional houses are distinct. And although they have changed and are changing still, each of these 34 individual house-types remains immediately recognisable. 606 $aVernacular architecture$zIndia$zMeghalaya 606 $aVernacular architecture$zIndia$zAssam 606 $aVernacular architecture$zIndia$zAruna?chal Pradesh 615 0$aVernacular architecture 615 0$aVernacular architecture 615 0$aVernacular architecture 676 $a728.0954/16 700 $aKolkman$b Rene$01664227 701 $aBlackburn$b Stuart H$0532499 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910807189003321 996 $aTribal architecture in Northeast India$94022132 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01176nam0-22003371i-450 001 990005527870403321 005 20240523154403.0 035 $a000552787 035 $aFED01000552787 035 $a(Aleph)000552787FED01 035 $a000552787 100 $a19990604d1941----km-y0itay50------ba 101 0 $aita 105 $ay-------001yy 200 1 $aNuovi studi e ricerche intorno al seppelimento d'Ercolano$fAmedeo Maiuri 210 $aRoma$creale Accademia d'Italia$d1941 215 $a55 p.$d27 cm 300 $aEstratto da: Rendiconti della Classe di Scienze Morali e Storiche della Reale Accademia d'Italia, serie VII, vol.
