The book analyses existing informal groups at the grassroots, furthering transnational solidarity in three thematic areas: disability, unemployment and immigration. Contributions assess how civic groups respond to the various crises affecting Europe, especially the economic and refugee crises, presenting new findings from a systematic comparative study conducted in eight European countries (Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK). The research will be of interest to scholars, students, journalists, policy-makers and activists interested in civil society, social movements, charitable actions, altruism and solidarity, as well as European studies and the socio-economic challenges of current European crises. 410 0$aPalgrave Studies in European Political Sociology,$x2946-6024 606 $aPolitical sociology 606 $aSocial sciences 606 $aEmigration and immigration 606 $aSocial policy 606 $aPolitical Sociology 606 $aSociety 606 $aHuman Migration 606 $aSocial Policy 615 0$aPolitical sociology. 615 0$aSocial sciences. 615 0$aEmigration and immigration. 615 0$aSocial policy. 615 14$aPolitical Sociology. 615 24$aSociety. 615 24$aHuman Migration. 615 24$aSocial Policy. 676 $a306.2 686 $aPOL029000$aSOC000000$aSOC007000$aSOC026000$2bisacsh 700 $aLahusen$b Christian$0850154 702 $aLahusen$b Christian$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aZschache$b Ulrike$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aKousis$b Maria$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910424946003321 996 $aTransnational Solidarity in Times of Crises$94401162 997 $aUNINA
