The artificial distinction between a self-conscious and critical "academic study of religion" and an ideological and authoritarian "religion," he argues, only obscures the phenomenon. Instead, Roberts calls on intellectuals to approach the field as a site of "encounter" and "response," illuminating the agency, creativity, and critical awareness of religious actors. To respond to religion is to ask what religious behaviors and representations mean to us in our individual worlds, and scholars must confront questions of possibility and becoming that arise from testing their beliefs, imperatives, and practices. Roberts refers to the work of Hent de Vries, Eric Santner, and Stanley Cavell, each of whom exemplifies encounter and response in their writings as they traverse philosophy and religion to expose secular thinking to religious thought and practice. This approach highlights the resources religious discourse can offer to a fundamental reorientation of critical thought. In humanistic criticism after secularism, the lines separating the creative, the pious, and the critical themselves become the subject of question and experimentation. 410 0$aInsurrections. 606 $aReligion$xPhilosophy 606 $aSocial sciences 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aReligion$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aSocial sciences. 676 $a200.7 700 $aRoberts$b Tyler T.$f1960-$01036742 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463942203321 996 $aEncountering religion$92457255 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01326nam0-22003851i-450 001 990000655730403321 005 20230323145834.0 035 $a000065573 035 $aFED01000065573 035 $a(Aleph)000065573FED01 035 $a000065573 100 $a20020821d1989----km-y0itay50------ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay-------001yy 200 1 $aUniversitą e ricerca nel e per il Mezzogiorno$erapporto finale della Commissione$fCommissione Nazionale per il Mezzogiorno del ministro per il coordinamento della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica$ga cura di Antonio Golini$gintroduzione di Antonio Ruberti 210 $aRoma ; Bari$cLaterza$d1989 215 $aXVII, 113 p.$d21 cm 225 1 $aLibri del tempo Laterza$v217 702 1$aGolini,$bAntonio$f<1937- > 702 1$aRuberti,$bAntonio$f<1927-2000> 710 02$aCommissione nazionale per il Mezzogiorno$033204 801 0$aIT$bUNINA$gRICA$2UNIMARC 901 $aBK 912 $a990000655730403321 952 $aDEP-PLT7-31-RA$bINV.1156 (RA)$fECA 952 $aH/2.112 RUB$b10814$fSES 952 $a10 P.T. 543$b1703$fDINEL 952 $a01 D III 17$b01496$fDINST 959 $aECA 959 $aDINEL 959 $aSES 959 $aDINST 996 $aUniversitą e ricerca nel e per il Mezzogiorno$9313768 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01844oam 2200481 450 001 9910707867403321 005 20161213100556.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002467883 035 $a(OCoLC)885281903 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002467883 100 $a20140805d1978 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aBibliography of the geology and hydrology of the Albuquerque greater urban area, Bernalillo and parts of Sandoval, Santa Fe, Socorro, Torrance, and Valencia Counties, New Mexico /$fby Ann Finley Wright ; prepared in cooperation with the U.S. Army, Corps of Engineers 210 1$a[Washington, D.C.] :$cUnited States Department of the Interior, Geological Survey,$d1978. 210 2$aWashington :$cUnited States Government Printing Office. 215 $a1 online resource (31 pages) $cmaps 225 1 $aGeological Survey bulletin ;$v1458 606 $aGeology$zNew Mexico$zAlbuquerque$vBibliography 606 $aHydrology$zNew Mexico$zAlbuquerque$vBibliography 606 $aGeology$2fast 606 $aHydrology$2fast 607 $aNew Mexico$zAlbuquerque Region$2fast 608 $aBibliography.$2fast 608 $aBibliographies.$2lcgft 615 0$aGeology 615 0$aHydrology 615 7$aGeology. 615 7$aHydrology. 700 $aWright$b Ann Finley$01403175 712 02$aGeological Survey (U.S.), 801 0$bCOP 801 1$bCOP 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCF 801 2$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910707867403321 996 $aBibliography of the geology and hydrology of the Albuquerque greater urban area, Bernalillo and parts of Sandoval, Santa Fe, Socorro, Torrance, and Valencia Counties, New Mexico$93496974 997 $aUNINA
