As a follow-up to the workshop, a summary was written to capture the presentations and discussions that occurred during the workshop. As a forum to discuss chemistry journals within the larger context of scientific, technical and medical journal publishing, the workshop covered whether chemists and chemical engineers have unique journal needs and, if so, whether these needs are being met in the current journal publishing environment. Workshop participants also tackled how open access publishing might be applied to the chemical literature, such as to provide authors more freedom to distribute their articles after publication and allowing free access to chemical literature archives. 606 $aChemical literature 606 $aCommunication in chemistry 606 $aScience publishing 615 0$aChemical literature. 615 0$aCommunication in chemistry. 615 0$aScience publishing. 676 $a540.72 701 $aHeindel$b Ned D$01852152 701 $aMasciangioli$b Tina M$g(Tina Marie),$f1969-$01813756 701 $aSchaper$b Eva von$01852153 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bChemical Sciences Roundtable. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910963869503321 996 $aAre chemical journals too expensive and inaccessible$94446908 997 $aUNINA
