Deutlicher lassen sich die Ziele und Kalküle aus dem Agieren sowjetischer Vertreter in der SBZ/DDR ablesen. Hier ist es die Agrarpolitik, die daraufhin untersucht wird, inwieweit sie Sowjetisierungsabsichten verfolgte und mit welchen Problemen sich sowjetisch gelenkte Gesellschaftspolitik im Osten Deutschlands auseinandersetzen musste. Im Detail werden zentrale Entscheidungen der Jahre 1949 bis 1953 rekonstruiert.
