He shows how five English writers consciously used and adapted classical works, and in so doing he illuminates both the classical authors and their English imitators and admirers. Readable translations and summaries of the Latin sources make these stimulating studies accessible even to scholars and students with little or no Latin. The first essay compares Chaucer's treatment of Dido in The House of Fame and The Legend of Good Women with Virgil's presentation of Dido in the Aeneid, and Ovid's in Heroides 7. The second essay, comparing Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors with Plautus' Menaechmi, demonstrates how Shakespeare, weaving Roman farce into the framework of Hellenistic romance, developed both genres into something richer and more complex. The third essay on Pope's Epistle to Augustus shows his conversion of Horace's praise of Augustus into an anti-royalist attack on George II. In the fourth essay, Rudd discusses how much of Tennyson's Lucretius is invented and imported by Tennyson as a way of externalizing the inner conflicts he experienced in the age of doubt. The final essay, on Pound and Propertius, looks at Pound's representation of the Latin poet in Homage to Sextus Propertius, specifically in the areas of imperial politics, love, and language. In his preface Rudd writes: 'Everyone knows of the Classical Tradition - comprehending it is another matter.' This book brings it closer to our understanding. 410 0$aRobson classical lectures. 606 $aEnglish literature$xRoman influences 606 $aEnglish literature$xHistory and criticism 606 $aComparative literature$xEnglish and Latin 606 $aComparative literature$xLatin and English 606 $aClassicism$zGreat Britain 607 $aRome$xIn literature 608 $aCriticism, interpretation, etc. 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aEnglish literature$xRoman influences. 615 0$aEnglish literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aComparative literature$xEnglish and Latin. 615 0$aComparative literature$xLatin and English. 615 0$aClassicism 676 $a821.009142 700 $aRudd$b Niall$0186545 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910813099803321 996 $aClassical tradition in operation$9864654 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03340nam 22007215 450 001 9910731480703321 005 20230616072524.0 010 $a3-031-31054-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-31054-6 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC30602014 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL30602014 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-31054-6 035 $a(PPN)272272485 035 $a(CKB)27060378800041 035 $a(EXLCZ)9927060378800041 100 $a20230616d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aElastography of the Musculoskeletal System /$fedited by Salvatore Marsico, Albert Solano 205 $a1st ed. 2023. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2023. 215 $a1 online resource (132 pages) 311 08$aPrint version: Marsico, Salvatore Elastography of the Musculoskeletal System Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2023 9783031310539 327 $aIntroduction -- Elastography: Technical aspects -- Soft Parts Benign Pathology -- Soft parts Malignant Pathology -- Tendones and ligaments -- Muscles and fascias -- Nerves -- Synovial tissue and joints -- Future applications. . 330 $aIn this book recognized world-renowned expert authors expose the state of the art on musculoskeletal ultrasound elastography. Low cost, wide dissemination and accuracy in the evaluation of the musculoskeletal structures, nerves, periosseous soft parts, vascular structures, together with the possibility of performing real time dynamic studies, made the ultrasound technique widely spread among sonographers and musculoskeletal radiologists. Each chapter presents a description of the elastographic semiotics of the main pathologies of the musculoskeletal system and soft tissue, images that represent both routine and more complex clinical cases in a practical and schematic way and summary tables on the characteristics in terms of elasticity found in the main pathologies. A wealth of color images as well as dynamic images and tables complete the book, that will be a useful tool for sonographers , radiologists, orthopedists, sports medicine specialists wishing to expand their knowledge on ultrasound elastography. 606 $aRadiology 606 $aSports medicine 606 $aRheumatology 606 $aDermatology 606 $aOrthopedics 606 $aPhysical therapy 606 $aRadiology 606 $aSports Medicine 606 $aRheumatology 606 $aDermatology 606 $aOrthopaedics 606 $aPhysiotherapy 615 0$aRadiology. 615 0$aSports medicine. 615 0$aRheumatology. 615 0$aDermatology. 615 0$aOrthopedics. 615 0$aPhysical therapy. 615 14$aRadiology. 615 24$aSports Medicine. 615 24$aRheumatology. 615 24$aDermatology. 615 24$aOrthopaedics. 615 24$aPhysiotherapy. 676 $a616.0757 676 $a616.707543 700 $aMarsico$b Salvatore$01368917 701 $aSolano$b Albert$01368918 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910731480703321 996 $aElastography of the Musculoskeletal System$93394897 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01347nam2 22003131i 450 001 VAN00024994 005 20240806100328.741 010 $a88-02-06067-3 100 $a20040929d2004 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aˆ1: ‰Introduzione allo studio del diritto penale$ela legge penale, il reato$fCarlo Fiore, Stefano Fiore 205 $a2. ed 210 $aTorino$cUtet$dc2004 215 $aXI, 431 p.$d25 cm 461 1$1001VAN00004923$12001 $aDiritto penale$eparte generale$fCarlo Fiore$1210 $aTorino$cUtet$1215 $av.$d24 cm.$v1 606 $aMisure alternative alla detenzione$xLegislazione$3VANC002132$2FI 620 $dTorino$3VANL000001 676 $a345.450773$v21 700 1$aFiore$bCarlo$3VANV004448$0224755 701 1$aFiore$bStefano$3VANV008047$0237997 712 $aUTET $3VANV107949$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20240906$gRICA 912 $aVAN00024994 950 $aBIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI GIURISPRUDENZA$d00CONS XIV.Ca.56 (1) $e00 25705 20040929 950 $aBIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI GIURISPRUDENZA$d00CONS XIV.Ca.74 $e00 33546 20090721 996 $aIntroduzione allo studio del diritto penale$91403005 997 $aUNICAMPANIA
