Perl. 330 $aIn Thinking Being , Eric Perl articulates central ideas and arguments regarding the nature of reality in Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus, and Aquinas. He shows that, throughout this tradition, these ideas proceed from and return to the indissoluble togetherness of thought and being, first clearly expressed by Parmenides. The emphasis throughout is on continuity rather than opposition: Aristotle appears as a follower of Plato in identifying being as intelligible form, and Aquinas as a follower of Plotinus in locating the first principle ?beyond being?. Hence Neoplatonism, itself a coherent development of Platonic thought, comes to be seen as the mainstream of classical philosophy. Perl?s book thus contributes to a revisionist understanding of the fundamental outlines of the western tradition in metaphysics. 410 0$aAncient Mediterranean and medieval texts and contexts ;$vv. 17. 606 $aMetaphysics$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aPhilosophy, Ancient 606 $aPhilosophy, Medieval 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMetaphysics$xHistory 615 0$aPhilosophy, Ancient. 615 0$aPhilosophy, Medieval. 676 $a110.9 700 $aPerl$b Eric David$0994446 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910464688103321 996 $aThinking being$92277362 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01908nas 2200649-a 450 001 996207796103316 005 20230222213018.0 011 $a2831-4107 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2088224-5 035 $a(OCoLC)56572371 035 $a(CKB)991042754131268 035 $a(CONSER)--2011247806 035 $a(EXLCZ)99991042754131268 100 $a20040924a19999999 --- a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe Ochsner journal 210 $a[New Orleans, La.] $c[Ochsner Clinic Foundation]$d[1999]- 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 311 $a1524-5012 531 $aOCHSNER JOURNAL 531 $aOCHSNER J 531 0 $aOchsner j. 606 $aMedical protocols$vPeriodicals 606 $aMedicine$xPractice$vPeriodicals 606 $aMedicine$xStandards$vPeriodicals 606 $aClinical Protocols 606 $aClinical Medicine 606 $aPractice Management, Medical 606 $aResearch 606 $aMedical protocols$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01014534 606 $aMedicine$xPractice$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01015014 606 $aMedicine$xStandards$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01015119 608 $aPeriodical 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 608 $aPeriodicals.$2lcgft 615 0$aMedical protocols 615 0$aMedicine$xPractice 615 0$aMedicine$xStandards 615 12$aClinical Protocols 615 22$aClinical Medicine 615 22$aPractice Management, Medical 615 22$aResearch 615 7$aMedical protocols. 615 7$aMedicine$xPractice. 615 7$aMedicine$xStandards. 676 $a??? 676 $a600 712 02$aOchsner Clinic. 712 02$aAlton Ochsner Medical Foundation. 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a996207796103316 996 $aThe Ochsner journal$91996743 997 $aUNISA
