Problems cover areas of single-variable differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, advanced algebra, analytic geometry, combinatorics, basic group theory, and number theory. The problems of the competitions are given in chronological order as presented to the students. The solutions appear in subsequent chapters according to subject matter. Appendices recall some background material and list the names of students who did well. The University of Toronto Undergraduate Competition was founded to provide additional competition experience for undergraduates preparing for the Putnam competition, and is particularly useful for the freshman or sophomore undergraduate. Lecturers, instructors, and coaches for mathematics competitions will find this presentation useful. Many of the problems are of intermediate difficulty and relate to the first two years of the undergraduate curriculum. The problems presented may be particularly useful for regular class assignments. Moreover, this text contains problems that lie outside the regular syllabus and may interest students who are eager to learn beyond the classroom. 410 0$aProblem Books in Mathematics,$x0941-3502 606 $aFunctions of real variables 606 $aGeometry 606 $aGroup theory 606 $aDifferential equations 606 $aReal Functions$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M12171 606 $aGeometry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M21006 606 $aGroup Theory and Generalizations$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M11078 606 $aOrdinary Differential Equations$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M12147 615 0$aFunctions of real variables. 615 0$aGeometry. 615 0$aGroup theory. 615 0$aDifferential equations. 615 14$aReal Functions. 615 24$aGeometry. 615 24$aGroup Theory and Generalizations. 615 24$aOrdinary Differential Equations. 676 $a510.79 700 $aBarbeau$b Edward$f1938-$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$067749 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254069203321 996 $aUniversity of Toronto mathematics competition (2001?2015)$91523714 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03952nam 22006855 450 001 9910484055003321 005 20251230060822.0 010 $a3-319-94944-6 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-94944-4 035 $a(CKB)4100000004974899 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5438615 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-94944-4 035 $a(PPN)229496288 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000004974899 100 $a20180626d2019 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAdvances in Affective and Pleasurable Design $eProceedings of the AHFE 2018 International Conference on Affective and Pleasurable Design, July 21-25, 2018, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida, USA /$fedited by Shuichi Fukuda 205 $a1st ed. 2019. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2019. 215 $a1 online resource (417 pages) 225 1 $aAdvances in Intelligent Systems and Computing,$x2194-5365 ;$v774 300 $aIncludes index. 311 08$a3-319-94943-8 327 $aIncreasing importance of emotion in the connected society -- Shanghai Shikumen cultural and creative product design based on design thinking -- Modeling subjective temperature using physiological index -- On poster design in the subway public space in China based on the regional culture -- Verification of brain activity when watching TV commercials using optical topography -- Improved user experience with emotional design -- Applying intuitive thinking in smart home design based on semantic association -- The impact of design semantic on the user emotional image in the interface design -- Music retrieval and recommendation based on musical tempo. 330 $aThis book discusses the latest advances in affective and pleasurable design. Further, it reports on important theoretical and practical issues, covering a wealth of topics including aesthetics in product and system design, design-driven innovation, affective computing, evaluation tools for emotion, Kansei engineering for products and services, and many more. Based on the AHFE 2018 International Conference on Affective and Pleasurable Design, held on July 21?25, 2018, in Orlando, Florida, USA, the book provides a timely survey and inspiring guide for all researchers and professionals involved in design, e.g. industrial designers, emotion designers, ethnographers, human?computer interaction researchers, human factors engineers, interaction designers, mobile product designers, and vehicle system designers. . 410 0$aAdvances in Intelligent Systems and Computing,$x2194-5365 ;$v774 606 $aComputational intelligence 606 $aEngineering design 606 $aEmotions 606 $aIndustrial engineering 606 $aProduction engineering 606 $aUser interfaces (Computer systems) 606 $aHuman-computer interaction 606 $aComputational Intelligence 606 $aEngineering Design 606 $aEmotion 606 $aIndustrial and Production Engineering 606 $aUser Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction 615 0$aComputational intelligence. 615 0$aEngineering design. 615 0$aEmotions. 615 0$aIndustrial engineering. 615 0$aProduction engineering. 615 0$aUser interfaces (Computer systems). 615 0$aHuman-computer interaction. 615 14$aComputational Intelligence. 615 24$aEngineering Design. 615 24$aEmotion. 615 24$aIndustrial and Production Engineering. 615 24$aUser Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction. 676 $a745.2 702 $aFukuda$b Shuichi$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484055003321 996 $aAdvances in Affective and Pleasurable Design$91918826 997 $aUNINA
