This book reorients the question of the matrix as a place where everything comes from (chora, womb, incubator) by recasting it in terms of acts of "matrixial/maternal hospitality" producing space and matter of and for the other. Irina Aristarkhova theorizes such hospitality with the potential to go beyond tolerance in understanding self/other relations. Building on and critically evaluating a wide range of historical and contemporary scholarship, she applies this theoretical framework to the science, technology, and art of ectogenesis (artificial womb, neonatal incubators, and other types of generation outside of the maternal body) and proves the question "Can the machine nurse?" is critical when approaching and understanding the functional capacities and failures of incubating technologies, such as artificial placenta. Aristarkhova concludes with the science and art of male pregnancy, positioning the condition as a question of the hospitable man and newly defined fatherhood and its challenge to the conception of masculinity as unable to welcome the other.Birth (Philosophy)Human reproductionReproductionSex roleNurturing behaviorHospitalityMiscellaneaBirth (Philosophy)Human reproduction.Reproduction.Sex role.Nurturing behavior.HospitalityMiscellanea.361/.0072Aristarkhova Irina, 1037564DE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910463389803321Hospitality of the Matrix2458619UNINA01493nam0 22003971i 450 SBL045468820251003044354.0IT738583 20131022e19711911||||0itac50 baitaitz01i xxxe z01nGli atti in frode alla legge nella dottrina romana e nella sua evoluzione posterioreGiovanni RotondiEd. anastRoma"L'Erma" di Bretschneider1971XI, 226 p.23 cmStudia juridica55Ripr. dell'ed. di Torino del 1911.001RAV01457772001 Studia juridica55FRODEDIRITTO ROMANOFIRMILC148250IFraus legiFIRSBLC005754I346DIRITTO PRIVATO21Ius RomanumJusIusDiritto romanoIus RomanumDiritto romanoJusDiritto romanoIusRotondi, Giovanni <1885-1918>CFIV048228070188336ITIT-00000020131022IT-BN0095 NAP 01D $SBL0454688Biblioteca Centralizzata di Ateneo1 v. 01D (AR) 31 607 01AR 0700316075 VMA 1 v.Y 2013102220131022 01Atti in frode alla legge nella dottrina romana e nella sua evoluzione posteriore280973UNISANNIO
