Conclusions and Future Work. This book deals with dynamic and stochastic methods for multi-project planning. Based on the idea of using queueing networks for the analysis of dynamic-stochastic multi-project environments this book addresses two problems: detailed scheduling of project activities, and integrated order acceptance and capacity planning. In an extensive simulation study, the book thoroughly investigates existing scheduling policies. To obtain optimal and near optimal scheduling policies new models and algorithms are proposed based on the theory of Markov decision processes and Approximate Dynamic programming. Then the book presents a new model for the effective computation of optimal policies based on a Markov decision process. Finally, the book provides insights into the structure of optimal policies.Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems,0075-8442 ;673Project managementOperations researchDecision makingManagement scienceManagementIndustrial managementProduction managementMathematical optimizationProject Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/515020Operations Research/Decision Theoryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/521000Operations Research, Management Sciencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M26024Innovation/Technology Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/518000Operations Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/519000Discrete Optimizationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M26040Project management.Operations research.Decision making.Management science.Management.Industrial management.Production management.Mathematical optimization.Project Management.Operations Research/Decision Theory.Operations Research, Management Science.Innovation/Technology Management.Operations Management.Discrete Optimization.330519.6658.40301658.5658404658514Melchiors Philippauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1059977BOOK9910298517303321Dynamic and Stochastic Multi-Project Planning2510032UNINA01344nam0 22003371i 450 UON0032834620231205104209.97520090730d1964 |0itac50 baitaIT|||| 1||||La città nella storiaLewis Mumford2a ed.riveduta[Milano]Edizioni Comunità1964782 p., 64 c. di tav.ill.24 cm001UON003283612001 Passato e presente210 MilanoEdizioni Comunità9UON00378509The city in history.14006CittàStoriaUONC018234FIGeografia storicaUONC000066FIUrbanisticaUONC007727FIITMilanoUONL000005307.7609Comunità urbane - Trattamento geografico21711Urbanistica21MumfordLewisUONV0150563646Edizioni ComunitàUONV265593650ITSOL20260410RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO E ARCHIVIO STORICOUONSIUON00328346SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO E ARCHIVIO STORICOSI ITA II 0554 SI MR 78265 5 0554 City in history14006UNIOR
