Four different language strategies are explored: the basic colour strategy, the graded membership strategy, the category combination strategy and the basic modification strategy. These strategies are firmly rooted in empirical observations in natural languages, with a focus on compositionality at both the syntactic and semantic level. Through a series of in-depth experiments, this book discerns the impact of the environment, language and embodiment on the formation of basic colour systems. Finally, the experiments demonstrate how language users can invent their own language strategies of increasing complexity by combining primitive cognitive operators, and how these strategies can be aligned between language users through linguistic interactions.Computational models of language evolution ;3.ColorInformation technologyLanguage and languagesPhilologyColor.Information technology.Language and languages.Philology.415.018Bleys Joris915693UkMaJRUBOOK9910136403803321Language strategies for the domain of colour2052700UNINA01341nam 2200373 450 991070398510332120150824150555.0(CKB)5470000002435887(OCoLC)919093779(EXLCZ)99547000000243588720150824d1917 ua 0engurbn|||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierCoals in the area between Bon Air and Clifty, Tennessee /by Charles Butts[Washington, D.C.] :Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey,[1917]Washington :Government Printing Office.1 online resource (pages 307-310) illustrationBulletin / Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey ;641-KContributions to economic geology ;1916, part IIGeologyTennesseeWhite CountyCoal mines and miningTennesseeWhite CountyGeologyCoal mines and miningButts Charles1863-1946,1406352Geological Survey (U.S.),GPOGPOBOOK9910703985103321Coals in the area between Bon Air and Clifty, Tennessee3501723UNINA
