Combining contemporary political philosophy with historical, literary and philosophical texts, it examines a series of remarkable individuals who performed 'scripts' of justice in early Iron Age, archaic and classical Greece. From the earlier periods, these include Homer's Achilles and Odysseus as heroic individuals who are also prototypical citizens, and Solon the lawgiver, writing the scripts of statute law and the jury trial. In democratic Athens, the focus turns to dialogues between a citizen's moral autonomy and political obligation in Aeschyleon tragedy, Pericles' citizenship paradigm, Antiphon's sophistic thought and forensic oratory, the political leadership of Alcibiades and Socrates' moral individualism.Citizen & Self in Ancient GreeceJusticeHistoryTo 1500DemocracyGreeceAthensHistoryTo 1500CitizenshipGreeceAthensHistoryTo 1500Justice, Administration of (Greek law)Greek literatureHistory and criticismLaw and literatureJustice in literatureJusticeHistoryDemocracyHistoryCitizenshipHistoryJustice, Administration of (Greek law)Greek literatureHistory and criticism.Law and literature.Justice in literature.320.938/5/011Farenga Vincent1947-627026UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910784308803321Citizen and self in ancient Greece1216796UNINA01082nam0 22002771i 450 UON0026894720231205103747.80527-475-9174-320051109d2005 |0itac50 bafreFR|||| |||||La Guinée Equatoriale opprimée et convoitéeaide-mémoire d'une démocrature1968-2005Max Liniger-GoumazParisHarmattanc2005509 p.ill.25 cmGUINEA EQUATORIALEStoriaUONC029993FIFRParisUONL002984967.18STORIA DELLA GUINEA EQUATORIALE21LINIGER-GOUMAZMaxUONV048491243927L'HarmattanUONV246057650ITSOL20251003RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOUONSIUON00268947SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI ST 436 SI AA 27519 5 436 Guinée Equatoriale opprimée et convoitée1239632UNIOR
