Though it was not printed until 1619, Rothman sent a copy of his treatise in 1586 to Tycho Brahe, decisively influencing the latter's rejection of solid celestial spheres two years later. In his treatise, Rothmann joined the elimination of the solid celestial spheres to his concept of air as the substance filling the cosmos. He based his argument on the absence of refraction and the celestial location of the comet. The treatise also contained clear statements reflecting Rothmann’s adoption of Copernicanism. This first critical edition of the treatise is accompanied by an English translation and a thorough commentary. Some appendices with archival documents illustrate the genesis of Rothmann’s treatise.History of science and medicine library.Medieval and early modern science ;Volume 44.Comets1585Early works to 1800Astronomy, MedievalEarly works to 1800Cosmology, MedievalEarly works to 1800Electronic books.CometsAstronomy, MedievalCosmology, Medieval523.6/4Rothmann Christophactive 16th century,985709Granada Miguel Angel1949-Mosley Adam1974-Jardine NicholasMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910464770103321Christoph Rothmann's Discourse on the comet of 15852253041UNINA01123nam 2200361 450 99104672876033213-8325-9520-1(CKB)4340000000244087(MiAaPQ)EBC5231176(EXLCZ)99434000000024408720180523d2015 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierA centrifugal particle receiver for high-temperature solar applications /Wei WuBerlin :Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH,[2015]©20151 online resource (204 pages) illustrations3-8325-3882-8 Solar power plantsDesign and constructionElectronic books.Solar power plantsDesign and construction.621.31244Wu Wei344741MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910467287603321A centrifugal particle receiver for high-temperature solar applications1971803UNINA01161nam a22003011i 450099100090981970753620021105123943.0021105s1986 it a||||||||||||||||ita 8817165816b12072564-39ule_instARCHE-016236ExLDip.to Filologia Ling. e Lett.itaA.t.i.
