Perlustrando le dinamiche d’interferenza fra scena e media digitali, si riflette su un campione di allestimenti ispirati o influenzati dall’opera beckettiana nel suo complesso. L’indagine sulla funzione rivestita dai dispositivi digitali all’interno dell’economia della performance consente di tracciare una tassonomia a quattro classi. La prima comprende un’unica realizzazione che immette Play in una condizione di Mixed Reality, utilizzando la realtà aumentata quale sistema diegetico. Il secondo filone ragiona sulla categoria estetica del doppio, focalizzandosi sugli effetti determinati dalla geminazione della presenza attorica sul palcoscenico. Il terzo raggruppamento prevede lo scandaglio di due creazioni che riconfigurano il regime spaziale dell’area performativa, attraverso un habitat volumetrico astratto e una grafia luministica saldamente ancorata agli schemi iconografici beckettiani. Gli ultimi due casi studio intervengono contemporaneamente sul registro sonico e su quello visivo, producendo una scrittura scenica dal carattere imagofonico. A corredo del volume si presenta un’appendice costituita da interviste e conversazioni con i creatori e le creatrici degli spettacoli esaminati, e un apparato iconografico.
