Its spread has depended upon a reconstitution of state powers such that privatization, finance, and market processes are emphasized. State interventions in the economy are minimized, while the obligations of the state to provide for the welfare of its citizens are diminished. David Harvey, author of 'The New Imperialism' and 'The Condition of Postmodernity', here tells the political-economic story of where neoliberalization came from and how it proliferated on the world stage. While Thatcher and Reagan are often cited as primary authors of this neoliberal turn, Harvey shows how a complex of forces, from Chile to China and from New York City to Mexico City, have also played their part. In addition he explores the continuities and contrasts between neoliberalism of the Clinton sort and the recent turn towards neoconservative imperialism of George W. Bush. Finally, through critical engagement with this history, Harvey constructs a framework not only for analyzing the political and economic dangers that now surround us, but also for assessing the prospects for the more socially just alternatives being advocated by many oppositional movements.Economic policyNeoliberalismLibertyElectronic books.Economic policy.Neoliberalism.Liberty.330.12/2Harvey David1935-34164MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910451371003321Brief history of neoliberalism31703UNINA02789nam 2200493 450 991015505740332120140227174151.01-62618-481-X(CKB)3710000000972732(MiAaPQ)EBC4775398(EXLCZ)99371000000097273220170118h20132013 uy 0engurcnu||||||||rdacontentrdamediardacarrierEducation of military dependent students select assessments /Hernick A. The majority of children of military families in the United States attend public schools. A 2008 DOD study recommended offering military families a public charter school option in areas with poorly-performing local schools. This book examines the guidance needed for military base schools on start-up and operational issues; a review of charter schools on military installations; and a study recommending better oversight to improve services for military dependent students with special needs.Education in a competitive and globalizing world series.Military and veteran issues.Children of military personnelEducationUnited StatesCharter schoolsUnited StatesEvaluationChildren with disabilitiesEducationUnited StatesEvaluationChildren of military personnelEducationCharter schoolsEvaluation.Children with disabilitiesEducationEvaluation.371.82Demello Hernick A.MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910155057403321Education of military dependent students2883507UNINA01270nam 2200289 450 99666736330331620250827093342.020250721d1991----km y0itay5003 baitaspaITy 00 yComunitarizzazione del diritto interno e diritto agrario regionale, regime giuridico dei terreni forestaliatti delle 4.
