As we are living business history, the book draws from the epic economic, environmental, and cultural shifts in our collective consciousness. The impact of these deep and rapid changes on companies, employees, and the global economy cannot be underestimated and future world leaders must be prepared to lead in a manner that is socially responsible, ethical, and profitable. A corporation with a business model that polarizes or operates solely in the interest of its shareholders is unsustainable. Current benchmarks are unrealistic tools for businesses to rely upon as measures of future success. The mindset of profitability at any cost is causing us to grapple with a historically unprecedented world crisis, which threatens civilization, as we know it. A widespread erosion of ethics and responsible behavior in the business world has resulted from a failure of society and institutions of higher education to instill and teach moral principles.2013 digital library.Principles of responsible management (PRME) collection.Social responsibility of businessCapitalismReligious aspectsSpiritualitycorporate social responsibilitythe UN compactleadershipcorporate governancesustainabilityethicsintegritythe Euro zonefiscal crisisSocial responsibility of business.CapitalismReligious aspects.Spirituality.658.4092Berry Priscilla1853964MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910963202403321Fostering spirituality in the workplace4450902UNINA05456nam 22007333 450 99663966160331620250224120843.09783035626735303562673110.1515/9783035626735(CKB)37304492700041(MiAaPQ)EBC31901191(Au-PeEL)EBL31901191(OCoLC)1503845517(DE-B1597)634131(DE-B1597)9783035626735(EXLCZ)993730449270004120250224d2025 uy 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierNew Silk Road The Architecture of the Belt and Road Initiative1st ed.Basel/Berlin/Boston :Walter de Gruyter GmbH,2025.©2025.1 online resource (232 pages)9783035626698 3035626693 Frontmatter -- Contents -- Images -- Introduction -- Foreword -- Building the New Silk Roads -- The BRI before the BRI: China’s Architectural Aid and International Engagement -- I. In einigen Fällen wurde dringend benötigte Infrastruktur geschaffen, wie etwa das Krankenhaus von Niger in Niamey oder die Nationalbibliothek von El Salvador, gleichzeitig entstanden aber auch ganze Areale, wie z. Eine kritische Darstellung und ein architektonischer Leitfaden zur „Neuen Seidenstraße" Beiträge von Michele Bonino, Francesca Governa (Politecnico di Torino), Francesco Carota (Univerrity of Kansas), Sohrab Marri (Balochistan University), Charlie Xue (City University Hong Kong) Mit Fotoreportagen von CreatAr Images, Ivo Tavares, Raul Ariano und Al YousufChina’s Belt and Road Initiative, started in 2013, has transformed many places around the world but also China itself. In some cases, it provided crucial infrastructure, such as the General Hospital of Niger in Niamey or the National Library of El Salvador, while it also generated entire new urban areas, e.g. the Free Zone in Khorghos, Kazakhstan, with sometimes controversial effects to local communities and the environment. Based on research undertaken at the Politecnico di Torino, this publication looks at the "Belt and Road Initiative" in architectural and spatial terms. Organized in thematic categories, it entails a survey of 20 case studies and investigates the impact of these China-backed projects. All buildings are documented with maps, architectural drawings and photographs specifically created for this book.
