Sirleto established himself as a pivotal prelate, who assisted Pope Paul IV in rearranging the ceremonial apparatus for the solemn celebrations of the Cathedra Petri (St Peter's Throne). Scholars, however, were unable to properly examine his De praestantia basilicae Vaticanae, because the manuscripts of this discourse were never completely identified. The edition of this treatise will therefore primarily provide a reconstruction of Sirleto's working methods in readjusting the ceremonial solemnities prescribed for the feast day of the Cathedra Petri according to Curial Ceremony. The second discourse concerns, on the other hand, a description of the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore on the Esquiline Hill, which Sirleto composed for the Cardinal Bishop of Milan, Carlo Borromeo. In contrast to the edition of the first discourse in this volume, the Trattato sopra la chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore is presented according to the correspondence between Borromeo and Sirleto.LITERARY CRITICISM / European / GeneralbisacshEarly modern period.Guglielmo Sirleto.Roman curia.papacy.LITERARY CRITICISM / European / General.230Malesevic Filip1223450Sirleto Guglielmo1461771Schweizerischer Nationalfondsfndhttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fndMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996571847003316Rome's Apostolic Heritage3670550UNISA04273nam 2200757Ia 450 991095810130332120251117065323.01-282-86680-X97866128668070-7735-7635-510.1515/9780773576353(CKB)2670000000080741(EBL)3271049(SSID)ssj0000529783(PQKBManifestationID)11343422(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000529783(PQKBWorkID)10560726(PQKB)10565519(CaBNvSL)slc00225660(CEL)432900(Au-PeEL)EBL3332050(CaPaEBR)ebr10558999(CaONFJC)MIL286680(OCoLC)923234053(DE-B1597)655420(DE-B1597)9780773576353(VaAlCD)20.500.12592/kx53mg(MiAaPQ)EBC3332050(EXLCZ)99267000000008074120120328d2009 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierInnovation, science, environment, special edition charting sustainable development in Canada, 1987-2007 /edited by Glen Toner and James MeadowcroftSpecialMontreal Published for The School of Public Policy, Carleton University by McGill-Queen's University Pressc20091 online resource (266 pages)Innovation, science, environment series ;40-7735-3533-0 0-7735-3532-2 1 Engaging with Sustainable Development: Setting the Canadian Experience in Context / James Meadowcroft and Glen Toner -- 2 Why Aren't We There Yet?
