This work is of utmost importance for the forthcoming generation of multipetawatt laser facilities where this physics will be tested. The first part consists of an introduction that extends from classical and quantum electrodynamics in strong fields to the kinetic description of plasmas in the interaction with such fields. This can be considered as an advanced tutorial which would be extremely useful to researchers and students new to the field. The second part describes original contributions on the analysis of the signatures of classical and quantum radiation reaction on the distribution function of the charged particles and of the photon spectrum, and leads to significant advances on this topic. These results are then extended to the analysis of the so-called QED cascades which are of central importance for a better understanding of some astrophysical phenomena and basic physics problems. Finally, the book discusses future directions for the high intensity laser–plasma interaction community. The results presented in this thesis are expected to become more and more relevant as the new multipetawatt facilities become operative.Springer theses.Plasma dynamicsPlasma dynamics.530.44Niel Fabien913757MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996466736903316Classical and Quantum Description of Plasma and Radiation in Strong Fields2047249UNISA01222nas 2200397 a 450 991089297540332120240413021146.0(CKB)954928495418(CONSER) 67051336 (DE-599)ZDB3103308-8(EXLCZ)9995492849541820760616a19639999 uy aengtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierKeio economic studies[Tokyo] Keio Economic Society, Keio University[1963-1 online resourceTitle from cover.Refereed/Peer-reviewedPrint version: Keio economic studies. 0022-9709 (DLC) 67051336 (OCoLC)2229970 KEIO ECON STUDKeio econ. stud.Economic historyPeriodicalsWirtschaftswissenschaftstwJapanEconomic conditionsPeriodicalsEconomic historyWirtschaftswissenschaft.330.9/005Keiō Gijuku Keizai Gakkai.JOURNAL9910892975403321exl_impl conversionKeio economic studies893447UNINA
