It serviced an ever-expanding reading public, as well as many and varied practical quotidian needs. Its impact on society was multi-dimensional and complex, and its social reach far broader than the civic or ecclesiastical elites were ever to be entirely comfortable with. This cross-disciplinary volume of essays focuses on the maturing marketplace for print in the first half of the seventeenth century, shedding new light on some important transformations, with authors and publishers seizing opportunities available to them – negotiating the regulatory efforts of the censors, and scrambling to reconfigure their relationship with their readers.Library of the written word. The workshop took place August 15 - 17, 2007, at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. The workshop alternates with the Scandinavian Workshop on Algorithm Theory (SWAT), continuing the t- dition of SWAT and WADS starting with SWAT 1988 and WADS 1989. From 142 submissions, the Program Committee selected 54 papers for presentation at the workshop. In addition, invited lectures were given by the following dist- guished researchers: Je? Erickson (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Mike Langston (University of Tennessee). On behalf of the Program Committee, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the many persons whose e?ort contributed to making WADS 2007 a success. These include the invited speakers, members of the Steering and ProgramCommittees, the authorswho submitted papers, andthe manyreferees who assisted the Program Committee. We are indebted to Gerardo Reynaga for installing and modifying the submission software, maintaining the submission server and interacting with authors as well as for helping with the preparation of the program.Theoretical Computer Science and General Issues,2512-2029 ;4619Computer programmingAlgorithmsArtificial intelligence—Data processingComputer science—MathematicsDiscrete mathematicsComputer graphicsNumerical analysisProgramming TechniquesAlgorithmsData ScienceDiscrete Mathematics in Computer ScienceComputer GraphicsNumerical AnalysisComputer programming.Algorithms.Artificial intelligence—Data processing.Computer science—Mathematics.Discrete mathematics.Computer graphics.Numerical analysis.Programming Techniques.Algorithms.Data Science.Discrete Mathematics in Computer Science.Computer Graphics.Numerical Analysis.005.73Dehne F(Frank),1960-Sack J.-R(Jörg-Rüdiger),1954-Zeh NorbertMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996466340203316Algorithms and Data Structures1967417UNISA
