Perhaps the most fundamental problems in robotics today are uncertainty and error in control, sensing, and modelling. In this monograph the author provides what is perhaps the first systematic treatment of the uncertainty problem. This book descibes the theory he developed for planning compliant motions for tasks such as robotic assembly. The planner can synthesize robot control programs that are robust in the face of uncertainty in the control system, the robot sensors, and variation in the geometry of the assembly. Perhaps the deepest contribution lies in a new theory of Error Detection and Recovery (EDR). While EDR is largely motivated by the problem of uncertainty its applicability may be quite broad. EDR has been a persistent but ill-defined theme in AI and robotics research. The author gives a constructive, geometric definition for EDR strategies, and shows how they may be computed. This theory represents an elegant mathematical attack on the problem of error detection and recovery based on geometric and physical reasoning. Finally, algorithms for the automatic synthesis of EDR strategies are described, and new results on their computational complexity are analyzed.Lecture Notes in Computer Science,0302-9743 ;336RoboticsAutomationComputer-aided engineeringArtificial intelligenceComputer graphicsOptical data processingControl engineeringMechatronicsRobotics and Automationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T19020Computer-Aided Engineering (CAD, CAE) and Designhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I23044Artificial Intelligencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000Computer Graphicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22013Image Processing and Computer Visionhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22021Control, Robotics, Mechatronicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T19000Robotics.Automation.Computer-aided engineering.Artificial intelligence.Computer graphics.Optical data processing.Control engineering.Mechatronics.Robotics and Automation.Computer-Aided Engineering (CAD, CAE) and Design.Artificial Intelligence.Computer Graphics.Image Processing and Computer Vision.Control, Robotics, Mechatronics.629.8/92Donald Bruce Rauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut54945BOOK996466138603316Error detection and recovery in robotics344435UNISA00994nam a2200241 i 4500991000887569707536050308s1993 it 00 0 ita d8835087082 b13288210-39ule_instDip.to Scienze pedagogicheita378.45Polenghi, Simonetta182987La politica universitaria italiana nell'età della destra storica, (1848-1876) /Simonetta PolenghiBrescia :La Scuola,c1993602 p. :ill. ;21 cmPedagogia : testi e studi storiciDestra storica1861-1876Politica universitaria.b1328821002-04-1408-03-05991000887569707536LE022 378 POL01.0112022000114530le022gE25.82-l- 01110.i1402650810-03-05Politica universitaria italiana nell'età della destra storica (1848-1876990965UNISALENTOle02208-03-05ma -itait 30
