Since the 1990s, the Internet has become the main driving force behind application development in all domains. An increase in the demand for resource sharing across different sites connected through networks has led to an evolution of data- and knowledge-management systems from centralized systems to decentralized systems enabling large-scale distributed applications providing high scalability. Current decentralized systems still focus on data and knowledge as their main resource. Feasibility of these systems relies basically on P2P (peer-to-peer) techniques and the support of agent systems with scaling and decentralized control. Synergy between grids, P2P systems and agent technologies is the key to data- and knowledge-centered systems in large-scale environments. This, the 17th issue of Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems, contains extended and revised versions of five papers, selected from the 24 full and 8 short papers presented at the 15th International Conference on Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery, DaWaK 2013, held in Prague, The Czech Republic, in August 2013. Of the five papers, two cover data warehousing aspects related to query processing optimization in advanced platforms, specifically Map Reduce and parallel databases, and three cover knowledge discovery, specifically the causal network inference problem, dimensionality reduction, and the quality-of-pattern-mining task.Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems,1869-1994 ;8970Database managementData miningArtificial intelligenceInformation storage and retrievalAlgorithmsDatabase Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18024Data Mining and Knowledge Discoveryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18030Artificial Intelligencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000Information Storage and Retrievalhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18032Algorithm Analysis and Problem Complexityhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16021Database management.Data mining.Artificial intelligence.Information storage and retrieval.Algorithms.Database Management.Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery.Artificial Intelligence.Information Storage and Retrieval.Algorithm Analysis and Problem Complexity.005.745Hameurlain Abdelkaderedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtKüng Josefedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtWagner Rolandedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtBellatreche Ladjeledthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMohania Mukeshedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996198829103316Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems XVII2831583UNISAThis Record contains information from the Harvard Library Bibliographic Dataset, which is provided by the Harvard Library under its Bibliographic Dataset Use Terms and includes data made available by, among others the Library of Congress03830nam 22007935 450 99646603270331620230406042658.03-642-23490-910.1007/978-3-642-23490-3(CKB)2550000000052225(SSID)ssj0000611186(PQKBManifestationID)11974002(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000611186(PQKBWorkID)10644945(PQKB)11710953(DE-He213)978-3-642-23490-3(MiAaPQ)EBC3067103(PPN)156318075(EXLCZ)99255000000005222520110816d2011 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtccrWireless Algorithms, Systems, and Applications[electronic resource] 6th International Conference, WASA 2011, Chengdu, China, August 11-13, 2011, Proceedings /edited by Yu Cheng, Do Young Eun, Zhiguang Qin, Min Song, Kai Xing1st ed. 2011.Berlin, Heidelberg :Springer Berlin Heidelberg :Imprint: Springer,2011.1 online resource (XIV, 434 p. 157 illus., 102 illus. in color.)
