This volume presents papers from a workshop held in 1993 where a small number of key researchers and practitioners in the area met to discuss the experiences of industrial practitioners, to provide a perspective on the state of the art of fault tolerance research, to determine whether the subject is becoming mature, and to learn from the experiences so far in order to identify what might be important research topics for the coming years. The workshop provided a more intimate environment for discussions and presentations than usual at conferences. The papers in the volume were presented at the workshop, then updated and revised to reflect what was learned at the workshop.Lecture Notes in Computer Science,0302-9743 ;774Special purpose computersArchitecture, ComputerComputersOperating systems (Computers)Database managementData structures (Computer science)Special Purpose and Application-Based Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13030Computer System Implementationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13057Theory of Computationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16005Operating Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14045Database Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18024Data Storage Representationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I15025Special purpose computers.Architecture, Computer.Computers.Operating systems (Computers).Database management.Data structures (Computer science).Special Purpose and Application-Based Systems.Computer System Implementation.Theory of Computation.Operating Systems.Database Management.Data Storage Representation.004.2/2Banatre Micheledthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtLee Peter Aedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtBOOK996466024103316Hardware and software architectures for fault tolerance1381948UNISA
