The symposium provided a forum for presenting and exploring the l- est research and developments in image and video technology. Discussing the possibilities and directions in these ?elds settled a place where both academic research and industrial activities were presented for mutual bene?t. The aim of the symposium was to promote and disseminate ongoing research on multi- dia hardware and image sensor technologies, graphics and visualization, image analysis, multiple view imaging and processing, computer vision applications, image and video coding, and multimedia processing. The volume is a realization of the ongoing success of the Paci?c Rim Symposium on Video and Image Te- nology for which the ?rst issue (PSIVT 2006) was last year in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Republic of China. PSIVT 2007 provides evidence of the growing stature of the Paci?c Rim s- enti?c community in video and image technology andof their impact worldwide. The symposium received contributions from 31 countries, registering a total of 155 papers, out of which 75 were accepted for publication in these proce- ings, which is equivalent to an acceptance rate of 48. 4%. The review process was carried out in seven di?erent themes, each composed of theme Co-chairs and a ProgramCommittee composed of internationally recognized scientists, all experts in their respective theme. Each paper was peer-reviewed by two to ?ve reviewers.Image Processing, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Graphics ;4872Imaging systemsCongressesComputer visionCongressesImage analysisCongressesImaging systemsComputer visionImage analysis621.367DAT 758fstubDAT 760fstubDAT 770fstubELT 530fstubSS 4800rvkMery DomingoRueda LuisIEEE Pacific Rim Symposium on Image and Video TechnologyMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996465742603316Advances in Image and Video Technology772155UNISA03619nam 22006375 450 991052380470332120251202140923.03-030-85943-610.1007/978-3-030-85943-5(CKB)5490000000111359(MiAaPQ)EBC6795882(Au-PeEL)EBL6795882(OCoLC)1286428538(PPN)25830328X(BIP)82055091(BIP)81078163(DE-He213)978-3-030-85943-5(EXLCZ)99549000000011135920211028d2022 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierFluid Mechanics for Cardiovascular Engineering A Primer /by Gianni Pedrizzetti1st ed. 2022.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2022.1 online resource (231 pages)3-030-85942-8 Introductory Elements -- Fluid Dynamics: Conservation Laws -- Fundamentals for Mostly Unidirectional Flow -- Advanced Analysis of Separated Flow. This book provides a guiding thread between the distant fields of fluid mechanics and clinical cardiology. Well rooted in the science of fluid dynamics, it drives the reader across progressively more realistic scenarios up to the complexity of routine medical applications. Based on the author’s 25 years of collaborations with cardiologists, it helps engineers learn communicating with clinicians, yet maintaining the rigor of scientific disciplines. This book starts with a description of the fundamental elements of fluid dynamics in large blood vessels. This is achieved by introducing a rigorous physical background accompanied by examples applied to the circulation, and by presenting classic and recent results related to the application of fluid dynamics to the cardiovascular physiology. It then explores more advanced topics for a physics-based understanding of phenomena effectively encountered in clinical cardiology. It stands as an ideal learning resource for physicists and engineers working in cardiovascular fluid dynamics, industry engineers working on biomedical/cardiovascular technology, and students in bio-fluid dynamics. Written with a concise style, this textbook is accessible to a broad readership, including students, physical scientists and engineers, offering an entry point into this multi-disciplinary field. It includes key concepts exemplified by illustrations using cutting-edge imaging, references to modelling and measurement technologies, and includes unique original insights.Fluid mechanicsBiomedical engineeringCardiovascular systemPhysiologyEngineering Fluid DynamicsBiomedical Engineering and BioengineeringBiomedical Devices and InstrumentationCardiovascular PhysiologyFluid mechanics.Biomedical engineering.Cardiovascular system.Physiology.Engineering Fluid Dynamics.Biomedical Engineering and Bioengineering.Biomedical Devices and Instrumentation.Cardiovascular Physiology.616.10754Pedrizzetti Gianni1077335MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910523804703321Fluid Mechanics for Cardiovascular Engineering2588723UNINA
