Conclusion -- References -- IndexThis comparative ethnography of a Muslim and a Christian Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon focuses on contrasting social belonging processes through a ritualization approach. Leonardo Schiocchet argues that contrasts emerge out of the intersectionality of religiosity, nationhood, refugeeness and politics, and synthesizes academic research on piety and moral self-cultivation and on the everyday-life of religious communities. He contributes to the literature on refugees at large, and Palestinian refugees in special, with the unique dense socio-historical portrait of two refugee camps for which there is almost no recorded literature.SOCIAL SCIENCE / Emigration & ImmigrationbisacshFleeing.Intersectionality.Islamic Studies.Migration.Palestinians.Refugee Studies.Religion.Religiosity.Religious Studies.Ritualization.Sociology of Religion.SOCIAL SCIENCE / Emigration & Immigration.Schiocchet Leonardo, authttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1222009Austrian Science Fund - FWF (Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung)fndhttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fndDE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK996465263003316Living in Refuge2833951UNISA03926oam 22009014a 450 99637904410331620230807182945.090-485-5140-490-485-2838-010.1515/9789048528387(CKB)3840000000350080(MiAaPQ)EBC5216297(OCoLC)1163589731(MdBmJHUP)muse76676(DE-B1597)502503(OCoLC)1020031366(DE-B1597)9789048528387(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/36456(EXLCZ)99384000000035008020170830d2017 uy 0engurcnu||||||||rdacontentrdamediardacarrierAnglo-Saxon Literary LandscapesEcotheory and the Environmental Imagination /Heide EstesAmsterdam University Press2018Amsterdam :Amsterdam University Press,[2017]©20171 online resource (208 pages)Environmental humanities in pre-modern culturesIncludes index.90-8964-944-1 Includes bibliographical references and index.Introduction -- Imagining the sea in secular and religious poetry -- Ruined landscapes -- Rewriting Guthlac's Wilderness -- Animal natures -- Objects and hyperobjects -- Conclusion: ecologies of the past and the future.Literary scholars have traditionally understood landscapes, whether natural or manmade, as metaphors for humanity instead of concrete settings for peoples actions. This book accepts the natural world as such by investigating how Anglo-Saxons interacted with and conceived of their lived environments. Examining Old English poems, such as 'Beowulf' and 'Judith', as well as descriptions of natural events from the 'Anglo-Saxon Chronicle' and other documentary texts, Heide Estes shows that Anglo-Saxon ideologies which view nature as diametrically opposed to humans, and the natural world as designed for human use, have become deeply embedded in our cultural heritage, language, and more.Environmental humanities in pre-modern cultures.Nature in literatureEcocriticismLandscapes in literatureEcology in literatureEcocriticismfast(OCoLC)fst00901428Ecology in literaturefast(OCoLC)fst00901557Landscapes in literaturefast(OCoLC)fst01899802Nature in literaturefast(OCoLC)fst01034680AltenglischgndEcocriticismgndLiteraturgndUmweltgndEnglish literatureOld English, ca. 450-1100History and criticismidszbzesNature in literatureidszbzesLandscape in literatureidszbzesEcocriticismidszbzesAnglo-Saxon studies, Old English language and literature, Ecotheory, Ecocriticism, Environmental studies.Nature in literature.Ecocriticism.Landscapes in literature.Ecology in literature.Ecocriticism.Ecology in literature.Landscapes in literature.Nature in literature.AltenglischEcocriticismLiteraturUmweltEnglish literatureHistory and criticism.Nature in literature.Landscape in literature.Ecocriticism.810/820Estes Heide(Heide Ruth),1024743MdBmJHUPMdBmJHUPBOOK996379044103316Anglo-Saxon Literary Landscapes2435754UNISA
