During the 1920's, Franck was a prominent figure in the German physics community. His research into the structure of the atom earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1925. After the Nazis seized power in 1933, Franck resigned his professorship at Gottingen in protest against anti-Jewish policies. He soon emigrated to the United States, where, at the University of Chicago, he began innovative research into photosynthesis.Stanford nuclear age series.PhysicistsGermanyBiographyNobel Prize winnersGermanyBiographyJewish refugeesUnited StatesBiographyElectronic books.PhysicistsNobel Prize winnersJewish refugees530.092BLemmerich J1034935Hentschel Ann974967MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910456983903321Science and conscience2454352UNINA01353nam 2200337Ia 450 99639740520331620221102112927.0(CKB)4940000000059724(EEBO)2240937046(OCoLC)166384209(EXLCZ)99494000000005972420070829d1617 uy 0engurbn||||a|bb|The Holy Bible, containing the Old Testament and the New[electronic resource] Newly translated out of the originall tongues: and with the former translations diligently compared and reuised, by His Maiesties speciall commandement.Imprinted at London by Robert Barker, Printer to the Kings most Excellent Maiestie.1617.ca.
