Drawing on hagiography, chronicles, theology, canon law, and pastoral sources, Dyan Elliott traces the history of spiritual marriage in the West from apostolic times to the beginning of the sixteenth century.ACLS Fellows’ publications.ACLS Humanities E-Book.EheKeuschheitGeschichte MittelalteridsbbKeuschheitEheGeschichte MittelalteridsbbEheChristentumGeschichte MittelalteridsbbChristentumEheGeschichte MittelalteridsbbEhelosigkeit(DE-588)4013650-4gndEhe(DE-588)4013630-9gndChristentum(DE-588)4010074-1gndEuropeSocial life and customsEuropeChurch history600-1500Abelard.Adalbert (deacon of Bamberg).Aelred of Rievaulx.Alan of Lille.Alphonse of Pecha.Amon of Nitria.Apostolic Canons.Arnold of Villanova.Barlow, Frank.Bede the Venerable.Beguines.Bernard of Clairvaux.Bolton, Brenda.Burrus, Virginia.Bynum, Caroline Walker.Caesarius of Heisterbach.Catherine of Bologna.Charlemagne (emperor).Chiarito del Voglia.Chrysostom, John.Clement of Alexandria.Collectio Seguntina.Conrad of Piacenza.Daniélou, Jean.Desert Fathers.Domitilla (martyr).Ebernand von Erfurt.Eddius Stephanus.Elizabeth of Hungary.Euchites.Fliche, Augustin.Flodoard of Rheims.Fortunatus, Venantius.Gangulf (martyr).Geneviève of Brabant.Gentile of Ravenna.Gilbert of Sempringham.Gnosticism.Hali Medenhad.Handlyng Synne.Historia Compostellana.Ida of Bologne.Isidore of Seville.Jacobilli, Luigi.James Oldo.John the Baptist.Kieckhefer, Richar.Landulf the Senior.Lawrence (martyr).Lyndwood, William.anticlericalism.courtly love.EheKeuschheitKeuschheitEheEheChristentumChristentumEheEhelosigkeit.Ehe.Christentum.306.7Elliott Dyan505614American Council of Learned Societies.MdBmJHUPMdBmJHUPBOOK996248006203316Spiritual marriage804512UNISA04212nam 22006855 450 991088109650332120240816130236.09783031664526(electronic bk.)978303166451910.1007/978-3-031-66452-6(MiAaPQ)EBC31606251(Au-PeEL)EBL31606251(CKB)34074935200041(DE-He213)978-3-031-66452-6(EXLCZ)993407493520004120240816d2024 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierArbitrary Reference in Logic and Mathematics /by Massimiliano Carrara, Enrico Martino1st ed. 2024.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2024.1 online resource (102 pages)Synthese Library, Studies in Epistemology, Logic, Methodology, and Philosophy of Science,2542-8292 ;490Print version: Carrara, Massimiliano Arbitrary Reference in Logic and Mathematics Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2024 9783031664519 Includes bibliographical references and index.Preface -- 1. The Mereological foundation of Megethology -- 9. Final ruminations -- Index. This book develops a new approach to plural arbitrary reference and examines mereology, including considering four theses on the alleged innocence of mereology. The authors have advanced the notion of plural arbitrary reference in terms of idealized plural acts of choice, performed by a suitable team of agents. In the first part of the book, readers will discover a revision of Boolosʼ interpretation of second order logic in terms of plural quantification and a sketched structuralist reconstruction of second-order arithmetic based on the axiom of infinite, a la Dedekind, as the unique non-logical axiom. The work goes on to analyse the pros and cons of the new interpretation, also with respect to Linneboʼs objections to the thesis that second order logic is genuine logic. A theory of concepts that can be labelled as a theory of logical concepts is expounded. In the second part of the book, the authors consider grounding megethology on plural arbitrary reference and argue that the arguments for the ontological innocence of mereology are not conclusive and that – for a certain use of mereology – a thesis of innocence, similar to that of plural arbitrary reference, is defensible. The work proposes a virtual theory of mereology in which the role of individuals is played by plural choices of atoms. This considered work will appeal to scholars from branches of analytic philosophy, logic and the philosophy of mathematics in particular.Synthese Library, Studies in Epistemology, Logic, Methodology, and Philosophy of Science,2542-8292 ;490Analysis (Philosophy)Mathematical logicLinguisticsMathematicsPhilosophyLogicAnalytic PhilosophyMathematical Logic and FoundationsLinguisticsPhilosophy of MathematicsLogicAnalysis (Philosophy).Mathematical logic.Linguistics.MathematicsPhilosophy.Logic.Analytic Philosophy.Mathematical Logic and Foundations.Linguistics.Philosophy of Mathematics.Logic.160Carrara Massimiliano1637230Martino EnricoMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQ9910881096503321Arbitrary Reference in Logic and Mathematics4256236UNINA
