The Hasmonean high priests exercised both religious and civil powers until 37 B.C.E. and some acted also as kings. Previous studies looked at them mainly from a biblical /Jewish perspective. Vasile Babota persuasively argues that the first high priests Jonathan and Simon acted as Hellenistic high priestly rulers. This conclusion is based on an analysis of the activity of the high priests Jonathan and Simon on internal and external levels, a comparison with earlier Jewish high priests, and a comparison with Hellenistic (Seleucid and Ptolemaic) high priests.Supplements to the Journal for the study of Judaism ;v. 165.MaccabeesJewish high priestsHistoryJewsHistory168 B.C.-135 A.DMaccabees.Jewish high priestsHistory.JewsHistory229/.7Babota Vasile1974-1567174Babota Vasile1974-MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910790829403321The institution of the Hasmonean high priesthood3838374UNINA05454nam 2200661 450 991083099820332120230725052917.01-118-09426-31-118-09427-1(CKB)3440000000000158(EBL)700446(SSID)ssj0000550562(PQKBManifestationID)11355798(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000550562(PQKBWorkID)10524212(PQKB)11725814(MiAaPQ)EBC700446(EXLCZ)99344000000000015820140501h20112011 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrAcid gas injection and related technologies /edited by Ying (Alice) Wu and John J. This book is the most comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of this technique, which is rapidly increasing in importance and usage in the natural gas and petroleum industry. The authors, a group of the most well-known and respected in the field, discuss, in a series of papers, this technology and related technologies as to how they can best be used by industry to creating a safer, cleaner environment.Advances in Natural Gas EngineeringOil wellsGas liftCongressesGas engineeringCongressesOil wellsGas liftGas engineering622622.3385622/.3382Wu Ying (Alice)Carroll John J.1958-Richardson RussellInternational Acid Gas Injection Symposium(1st :2009 :Calgary, Alta.)MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910830998203321Acid gas injection and related technologies4111501UNINA
