This book focuses on the first of these methods, ab initio valence bond theory. The book is split into two parts. Part I gives simple examples of two-electron calculations and the necessary theory to extend these to larger systems. Part II gives a set of case studies of related molecule sets designed to show the nature of the valence bond description of molecular structure. It also highlights the stability of this description to varying basis sets. There are references to the CRUNCH computer program for molecular structure calculations which is currently available in the public domain. The book will be of primary interest to researchers and students working on electronic theory and computation in chemistry and chemical physics.Valence (Theoretical chemistry)Valence (Theoretical chemistry)541.2/24Gallup Gordon A(Gordon Alban),1927-1042532UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910455931603321Valence bond methods2466833UNINA02843nam 22005895u 450 991015632050332120211006145206.097833180322223318032220(CKB)3780000000101874(OCoLC)967184230(SZ-BaSKA)222880(MiAaPQ)EBC31865652(Au-PeEL)EBL31865652(EXLCZ)99378000000010187420211006d1995 uy 0engurunu|||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierOral Cephalosporins / editor, R.C. The cephalosporins have long provided satisfactory treatment for many disorders without causing serious side effects; and over the past fifty years forms with different antimicrobial, pharmacologic and toxicologic properties have been developed. Despite the broad spectrum of their activity against a large variety of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, the third-generation oral cephalosporins including the prodrug esters do not work against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin-resistant staphylococci, enterococci or Bacteroides species. Many, however, are suitable for treating infections of the respiratory and urinary tracts and of the skin and its structure, as well as certain sexually-transmitted diseases. Authors consider other possible uses, against multi-resistant Enterobacteriaceae for instance, but also point out the limitations of the oral cephalosporins. For those working in the fields of infectious disease, bacteriology, chemotherapy, pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, this book is a valuable source of authoritative information.Issn SeriesPharmacologyInfectious DiseasesBacteriologyChemotherapyPharmaceuticsPharmacokineticsPharmacologyInfectious DiseasesBacteriologyChemotherapyPharmaceuticsPharmacokinetics615.5/8 s615/.32924Moellering Jr R.CMoellering Robert C1232161UKSKGUKSKGBOOK9910156320503321Oral Cephalosporins2860978UNINA
